Rep. Mullin Strong Favorite in Oklahoma Senate Runoff
In the Republican primary that is tantamount to election to the seat of Oklahoma's retiring GOP Sen. Jim Inhofe, the top two vote-getters Tuesday were Rep. Markwayne Mullin and former state House Speaker T.W. Shannon — both stalwart conservatives and strong supporters of former President Donald Trump.
But with Mullin drawing 44% of the vote in a 13-candidate race, he remains the strong favorite over Shannon (18%) in the runoff Aug. 23.

The only problem the GOP has with race is that they continue to ignore it whenever possible. It is the Demos that are the institutional racists, let them be.

Look at the big cities if you want to see how the party that has no “problem with race” does things.
How are the black dem wards of the state affording the resident’s inflation in all things necessary?
Did welfare go up to equalize with it?
Mullin is so milquetoast...TW Shannon is a superior candidate and Democrats stand no shot of winning the seat. Missed opportunity.
Dems still have a problem with projecting onto the GOP.
There’s more. Think Georgia. In 2004 Zell Miller retires and Herman Cain lost a primary to rino Issakson. Herman would have been great for the party. He was funny. Instead we get another pale face.
So what do Georgia republicans do to show we’re the party of inclusion? Nominate a rookie(Herschel) to go against a tested incumbent, setting us up to fail. It’s as bad as Lynn Swann going against Ed Rendell and getting creamed.
Some black elected official needs to speak out. Team players like Cain and Shannon should have been done thinking honey is better than vinegar.

Guess not-it’s Newsmax.
Your Link did not work.
I am not from Oklahoma. What was the advantage that Shannon had over Lankford other than the melanin content of his skin?
I did some digging, but information was not forthcoming except that Lankford wasn’t conservative enough for some, code for RINO. But it doesn’t say much about Shannon, though it did say he supported/sponsored a bill to require 35 hours of community time for SNAP recipients to receive benefits, and was involved in pushing legislation to fund needed infrastructure repairs on bridges and roads, but not much else.
You were interested enough to post this so I presume you may have skin in the game, can you fill us in on your views on this?
I am not in the least interested in electing someone because they have more melanin content in their skin.
On each candidate-was he endorsed by Trump? Did he vocally support Life in the abortion sphere? Is he Christian? Did he applaud the 2nd Amendment rulings while vocally supporting the right to keep and bear arms, how does he feel about involvement in Ukraine, etc.
Any insight on this?
Nope, another fail.
I loved TW and donated to his campaign when he ran, even though I’m in NY.
I know nothing about Oklahoma politics- has he been in the public eye in recent years? I followed him on Facebook, though i’ve long since deactivated my account. I never remember any pro-Trump posts from him.
Sorry-didn’t mean to make it seem the choice was between Lankford and Shannon since that is already over, is between Mullin and Shannon in August for the other seat?
I even tried searching newsmax for “mullins” and “oklahoma” and got nothing so no, I don’t think it’s newsmax
J. C. Watts was from Oklahoma...I think.
Even a web search for the article title shows zilch; https://duckduckgo.com/?q=The+GOP+Still+Has+A+problem+With+Race
Unless of course you made up the title.
This one works in my preview

I voted for TW because Mullen refused to acknowledge election fraud in 2020 🤪
