The key word there is “lawful.” I maintain that the order to take an unproven, ineffective, experimental vaccine is inherently unlawful. See the Nuremberg codes, et. al.
When something is ineffective and doesn’t assist the mission it is useless and pointless, indeed harmful, to the mission.

Has such an order ever been given before? I know there are unlawful orders you don’t have to follow. But this is new. Can an officer order you to drink cyanide? Drink alcohol? Commit adultery? It will be interesting to see the lawsuits.

More so than ‘unlawful’ are the words “unproven, ineffective, experimental”. The vaccines can not be considered ‘unproven, ineffective, experimental’ since they have been fully approved and therefore considered to be lawful. FWIW, the President may order the use of even ‘experimental’ vaccines.
For the 400th time, the Nuremburg codes have never been incorporated into US Code either by Treaty or Act of Congress. Therefore, they are irrelevant.
