Police in Akron, Ohio, unleashed a wave of tear gas on protesters who gathered outside of the city's main courthouse on Sunday night.
Several hundred protesters marched in the city in the hours after the Akron Police Department released the bodycam footage showing the shooting death of 25-year-old Jayland Walker.
Walker was killed after being shot at least 60 times by Akron cops following a traffic stop on June 27.
Riot police used tear gas in response to a protester who was taking down barriers that were set up outside of the police headquarters. Authorities responded by coming out in 'full riot gear,' reports WKYC.
While fleeing the tear gas, protesters began driving their cars on the sidewalk to get around snowplows parked in the road to block off the high street - and some protesters launched smoke bombs in the streets, reports the Akron Beacon Journal.
One protester began breaking the windows of several snowplows whilst a row of dumpsters was also pictured on fire, although there does not appear to be any major damage to property in the city.
WKYC's Neil Fischer said that police used 'at least a dozen' tear gas cans on protesters which resulted in many of the gathered crowd leaving the area. Fisher said that you could smell the tear gas in the air more than 15 minutes after it was used.
Fellow WKYC reporter Emma Henderson tweeted: 'Tear gas is flowing. We were well over a block away from where it was fired and it's in our noses, eyes and throats. Protesters are finding each other water and moving away.'
One protester, who goes by the moniker Comrade Ohio on Twitter, tweeted a video showing a dumpster on fire in the city.

When a handgun is drawn or a shoulder weapon engaged the implication is that deadly force is in play. All marksman training is posited on aiming at the center of mass That means shoot to kill. Self defense against an armed opponent or a presumably armed opponent is a euphemism, at least where I live, for shoot until the other person is dead. Btw wise guy you ever been in no second place winner situation?

You have several cops shooting at once over an interval of about 8 seconds. In the dark.
They already all knew he had shot at cops, and it’s dark enough that they can’t be sure of what he might or might not still be holding. And a guy on the ground can still squeeze of a shot and hit a cop.
The teaching moment for the agitators is that the perpetrator had eluded the day before, was armed and had shot at the police. If any agitators feel like they can do the same to the police in the next wave, the Officers should follow their training and stop the problem, with deadly force if necessary. That is the only persuasion that the rioters understand - immediate consequences for their actions.
In March of 2015, Atlantic City police shot a perp 45 times after he emerged from his SUV after leading them on a 10-mile hi-speed chase through four neighborhoods, firing at police as he fled.
They continued firing as long as he held the gun in his hand. Yes, the autopsy showed he was on PCP, and the grand jury ruled it a righteous shoot.
It would surprise me if this guy’s tox screen doesn’t also show PCP.
This wasn't one.
They fired about 90 and hot 60 him 60 times.
2 out 3 is not bad shooting while on the run.
They fired about 90 bullets and hit him 60 times.
2 out 3 is not bad while shooting on the run.
Shooting in the dark, under stress, yeah that’s acceptable marksmanship.
Well, we Based know how this will play out: every officer will be convicted, even the ones that didn’t fire a shot. But even if they are all found guilty, leftists will STILL riot.
So: BE READY TO SHOOT THE RIOTERS!!!!
