Retreat from Kyiv, a bridge too far in Donbas, and the sinking of the Moskva: Fleeing from Snake Island is just the latest in a long line of humiliating defeats for Russia's army in Ukraine
Daily Mail ^ | 7/1/2022 | Chris Pleasance

A 'gesture of goodwill': That was how the Kremlin tried to play off its retreat from Ukraine's Snake Island on Thursday, after commanders gave up hope of holding the strategic spit of land under withering artillery fire.

It is the same phrase that Putin's lackeys used to try and cover up their ignominious retreat from Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy back in early April, as the first phase of their war in Ukraine spectacularly failed.

But those are far from the only battlefield blunders to have left Russia's red army red-faced: From an early defeat trying to take Hostomel airfield to failed river crossings in the Donbas and the sinking of flagship Moskva, there have been plenty of embarrassing moments for Putin and his commanders.

Here, MailOnline takes a look back at all the defeats that have shamed what was once considered to be the world's second-best military...

If the Russians were really doing as badly as the MSM has been claiming, the Ukrainians would be raising their flag on the Kremlin by now

Russia defines clumsiness in offensive warfare nothing new. Defensively they’re impossible to beat but offensively they’re militarily retarded and have been since 1914.

By my count, one acre for Ukraine (Snake Island)...

I thought math was something that was taught well in Russian schools. Did you skip class a lot?

Snake Island is much larger than one acre, and so are all the other areas where the Russian invasion force has been driven out from.

But you knew that.

So how is that 3 days to conquer Ukraine going?

Does watching the Russian military fail over and over get you upset? Or are you just turned on by watching Putin kissing a little boy?

Great map! You need to add a magnifier so we can see the neighborhood in Сєвєродонецьк where Putin’s finest are about the close the cauldron and defeat a few Ukrainian territorial defense fighters laying mines and blowing up Russian tanks.

Seems a bit odd.

What's odd about posting articles about the most significant war in many years?

LOL. Let’s see, Russia secured a land bridge to Crimea, they own the entire Sea of Azov, they’re pushing the Ukrainians out of the two breakaway republics, I think they’re getting everything they want. They are also making $fat stacks$ with their oil revenue and disentangling themselves from corporate America and their gaystapo agenda, what’s for them not to like?

Not exactly a source with an non-slanted war reporting track record right here. Might at well just post Kyiv Post.

By my count, one acre for Ukraine (Snake Island), about 25,000 square miles for Russia

Your "count" is off by a factor of about 4200%!

FAIL!

Russians near Kherson airport are being slaughtered by Ukrainian artillery tonight. A turkey shoot. And Russia was conducting panicked defense drills earlier today at the Kerch Bridge to Crimea. Too funny!

...what’s for them not to like?

Costing their economy hundreds of billions of dollars in lost trade in other areas, losing tens of thousands of soldiers, showing the world that their military is 5th rate at best, pushing formerly Sweden and Finland into NATO, and ending up in a war with a now much more heavily armed and fully NATO supported neighbor that they may lose to in the end.

Oh, and I forgot finding out that their military is totally dependent on foreign technology, and that their export market for weapons just cratered as nations around the world see how poorly their equipment performs.

Sounds like the typical brilliant Russian strategy.

This one here is the Spam King. A lot of these Ukraine spammers are foreigners. (Not sure about this one, but it wouldn’t surprise me.)

You better be ponying up to JR

After using FR for his own propaganda platform, if he’s not paying JR, his spamming a$$ needs to be gone from here, IMO.

You do realize that you described our military equipment in regards to semiconductor and whatnot, right?

Ha, ha. The Ukrainians continuously whacked the Russians on Snake Island, until they scrammed. Then the Russians started launching on civilians in the nearby port area in retaliation: an example of Russian “goodwill.” Russian propaganda is so retarded.

Putin is raging with anger and violence that he will never take Odesa. It was his crown jewel and he will never have it.
