The United States Has Become Two Countries Within a Nation
American Thinker ^ | 1 Jul, 2022 | Steve McCann

We as a nation are at that defining moment when one side has to win and the other lose; there is no middle ground.

Not since the decade leading up to the Civil War has there been as much discussion about the possibility of the United States splitting into two or more countries as there has been in the past 10 years. The reality is that this nation has effectively split into two countries which are, for the moment, tenuously living side-by-side.

Race or ethnicity has been the underlying foundation in the creation of every nation in the history of mankind except the United States, as its founding was based on the tenet that all men are created equal and are endowed with certain unalienable rights that government cannot abrogate. As it does not have the cohesive factors of race or ethnicity, this nation as constituted can only survive based on the goodness of its people and the wisdom and integrity of its ruling class.

Ben Franklin at the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 in a speech to his fellow members of the convention said of the newly drafted Constitution and the government it created:

…and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and [I] believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it…

Ben Franklin’s prescient forewarning has come to pass. Over the past thirty-years, a plurality of ill-educated and malleable citizens have allowed the self-serving, decadent and nescient ruling class, in alliance with the radical left, to establish near-permanent despotism in the United States. They have deliberately and inexorably widened the gulf between the people

That was one of the best articles on this state of division I have read.

Lays it out point by point. Well done to the author for writing it, American Thinker for posting it, and you, MtnClimber, for propagating it here with this thread.

Excellent article.

Read and heed my tagline, folks, before it is to late. The war is happening. Stop thinking the current state of things is not war. It is.

When states were created, they had a total population of a city:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_historical_population

A simple solution is to extend states rights to cities to restore the optimum political border size. Give cities unlimited freedom to tax and regulate, within city limits. Anyone that has a hankering for more big government in their life can move there. Anyone that works for a living can move out. Political conflict solved, civil war averted, and socialism destroyed by self-inflicted hanging.

True but some Cities are more equal than others.

City States are political entities that control their states. They are far more than just left wing blue zones.

I have long thought there was no middle ground.

In the end, the foundations of Conservatism are solid, even if we don’t get the construction of the edifice built on is completely right all the time.

But the foundations of Leftism are a corrupt, poisonous, false premise based superficially (for the “Useful Idiots”) on equality of outcome (versus equality of opportunity) but at a deeper level, are simply focused on the Alinskyite acquisition and retention of raw power.

Putting a single, small drop of raw sewage into a gallon of ultra-pure distilled and deionized water turns something utterly pure into utterly polluted.

And so it is with any significant or worthwhile value that our enemies wish to taint with a drop of Leftism.

Finding “common ground” with evil means becoming evil. That is what it boils down to.

The United States is not so much united anymore. We’re the “diverse” tribes of North America now.

A defining moment for which there is no precedent, no model, no set of instructions... Few recognized the startling, almost unbelievable opposition to what is right and true. It remains to be seen if any portion of a once blessed and Godly nation will survive.

So what do we do about it? I don’t believe we will be able to vote our way out of this. The left has perfected cheating and they have the courts, the media and our Congress behind them supporting them, covering for them and we are not really organized in any way that would be effective right now. How do we change that?

America isnt quite as fake as all that A great many of the immigrants to America believed fully in her unique constitution and its individual liberty. That tied them/us together.

It's the city:state size ratio. MO has St Louis which is pretty small and has a sliver of Kansas City. The Northeast states have a high city:state ratio by land mass and population numbers. Massachusetts still has rural areas but they're all democratic socialists. Separating Boston would just give you two democratic socialist states.

What would the criteria be to call a city a state? Having an Intl airport? Percent of land mass as compared to the rest of the state? Percent of population as compared to the rest of the state. The population size in number? Presence of buildings over 10 stories?

That argument would never bee decided. Most Missourians would love to get rid of St Louis but is it big enough to become a state? Another issue is that cities tend to grow. Springfield MO is getting bigger all the time.

Then there's metro areas where people who work in the city live. Many if not most of them are dems. The city of St Louis is in St Louis County which is likely all blue.

St Louis itself is pretty small but the metro area on either side of the I-270 loop in St Louis county is likely blue. Muslims have settled in the blue and yellow area up near where it says St Charles County. The East side of the river is IL but is effectively part of the St Louis community and is full blown city like.

They understand that the Constitution as written guarantees their freedoms and independence from a now overbearing government.

*************

The bigger government gets, the smaller the citizens become.

If we can't shrink the beast it will consume us.

Why vote for people who just keep expanding the size, power and scope of an already massive and overbearing government?

It only makes the problem worse and guarantees the destruction of our liberties.

The Founding Fathers tried to warn us but we didn't listen. This may be our last chance to restore the republic to it original ideals.

This country has reached the inflection point... it can no longer pretend to be a singular national entity. Coexisting with the left is an intolerable condition.

No, we could not prevent it.

We lacked the raw political power to prevent it.

We still do not have that power on a sustained level. We unabatedly allow our leaders to be destroyed. Even our leader lacked the will to fight against his coup instigating persecutiors.

We do not storm the Congress to stop the kangaroo court currently in progress. We sit and watch and bitch and moan.We cowardly take no action

So far, we ain’t winning.

**************

Save for Donald Trump we don’t elect fighters. Look at the clowns we elect — and keep — in office. We don’t hold anyone accountable.

Its hard to win a war when you don’t have a motivated army fighting to win it. Just saying.

The criteria is to have political power, corrupt political power in some instances, to control the politics of the state. In coalition, the City States thus have collectively immense political power.
