The Looking Glass was a 70's group whose well-known hit Brandy" was their claim to fame.
Jimmy Loves Ginger on the flip side.
Jimmy loves Mary Ann
And Joey (Buttafuoco) loves Mary Jo
This song is in my top ten of all time.
I recently stumbled upon a great, lost tune.

Great song...the chorus in particular is just flawless. I bet if I had a million bucks to hire any musicians I wanted they wouldn’t be able to duplicate Jimmy Loves Mary Ann.
Jimmy gets all the breaks cause he knows how.
Brandy was a fine girl.
Back in those days we somehow got our hand on these Albums that were put out by the Army. They were kind of like those old K-Tel albums. Lots of different songs.
This song was on one of them. And I l really liked it. Also on that album from the same year was this song that was my favorite for some reason.

It was a feel good time. So sad what things have become.
"Jimmy Loves Mary-Anne" was the followup to "Brandy".
Eliot Lurie, now 73, wrote and sang both the Looking Glass hits.

But my life, my love and my Lady
Is the sea.
I knew Looking Glass wasn’t a one-hit wonder, but didn’t remember this. Comments mentioned Josie Cotton covered this. She was better known for Johnny Are You Queer, which had been done by the Go-Gos.
