IMO, this is how every damn' law enforcement agency in the United States needs to respond to school shootings and IMO, putting this message out in every community in every local PD, county sheriff and state police would send the right message.
It's about 30 seconds and I can't summarize it any better than is said in this video.
We protect the dumbass politicians in the toilet of Washington DC better than our own children. Hell, even banks have more security than 99.999% of the schools out there. Protect our kids! Screw the politicians! Disarm their security or better yet, make them ALL walk down the streets like you and I have to every day.
Our children deserve far better and it's time to act like it.

I don’t know how his words impact crazy people; he scares me. I wouldn’t even stare at that man.
I bet most good parents feel the same way. They will take the bullet to protect their kids and hopefully take out the scumbag in the process. Hopefully the parent survives. Any cop not willing to do the same thing is in the wrong line of work. Same with the military.

One thing I know, the policy of “you shelter in place while we wait outside until he runs out of ammo” is definitely a loser.
Break a window and run for their lives (because that's what they'd be doing) or knock a teacher out and then run. WHATEVER they have to do to get out of that situation, they simply MUST do.
Their safety was ALWAYS paramount to me. That's why their mom and I put them both through private school (which was fully secured) until high school at which time both were third degree taekwondo blackbelts and fully knew how to defend themselves against ANYONE who'd imperil their safety, including a dumbass teacher trying to tell them "lockdown".
When I retired I enrolled in our county community college. Recently, we were shown a video on school shootings. The policy of this community college is:
First: Try to escape ( run).
Second: Hide
Third: Fight
All colleges and universities in our state allow conceal carry on all campuses.
This is why most people don't object to the lifetime pensions and benefits given to retired police. The rest of the government parasites, however, are a different story.
Anyone who signs on to be a police officer should have that attitude. That’s the kind of courage that’s necessary.
