I bet most good parents feel the same way. They will take the bullet to protect their kids and hopefully take out the scumbag in the process. Hopefully the parent survives. Any cop not willing to do the same thing is in the wrong line of work. Same with the military.

This is why most people don't object to the lifetime pensions and benefits given to retired police. The rest of the government parasites, however, are a different story.
