Four have been charged with underage drinking after Pennsylvania State Police pulled over an Amish horse and buggy in Crawford County earlier this month, according to troopers.
It happened June 17 just after 7 p.m. in the 24400 block of Britton Run Rd. in Sparta Township.
Troopers said they saw the four riding unsafely in the horse and buggy, pulled it over and discovered they had been drinking alcohol.
The 20-year-old man who was driving the buggy was also charged with driving under the influence (DUI), according to State Police.
The other three people in the buggy were two 17 year olds and another 20 year old, troopers said. They were all from Centerville or Spartansburg.

The horse was drunk and weaving back and forth.
Law applies to operation of any vehicle.
A buggy is a vehicle.
It’s a fair cop.
Cuz he didn’t get a ticket.
This thread needs drunk horse gifs
A horse-drawn carriage is NOT a motor-vehicle.
A bicycle is not a motor vehicle.
A razr scooter is not a motor vehicle.
Most DUI laws are part of the MOTOR VEHICLE ACT.
UNLIKELY——ALCOHOL is POISON to a horse.
I know I feel much safer now. It’s good to see the Pennsylvania State Police have their top people protecting us from these hardened criminals.
If so the law is a....
uh....
horse.
Yes, but did the horse walk into a bar and the bartender ask him “Why the long face”?
My grandad would go visit family in another part of the county and they would enjoy some whisky with them. He got into his buggy and told the horse to head home. The horse would get him home while my grandad would catch a nap on the way.
This was around 1920.
Really? How about asking a veterinarian?
And the law in that nwck if the woods applies applies to any vehicles.
That’s a car. A bike. A riding lawn mower.
A buggy.
Don’t like the law, change it.
It’s hard for me to get worked up over this.
I don’t operate anything impaired.
And you know what?
That’s not a hardship. :-)
it started with “operating a motorized vehicle while impaired”...
it’s morphed into what you’ve been brainwashed to believe...
Lol!!! Hilarious !!!
My grandmother told the same stories (without the whiskey) - and she was only about 6 years old, alone on a buggie
