Several recent Supreme Court decisions have been favorable to conservatives: abortion, gun rights, and religious liberty. Simultaneously, we have uni-partisan gun-control legislation that just became law. It encourages states with financial incentives to enact red flag laws to supposedly help prevent people with mental illness from unsafely accessing guns.
While the Constitutionality of such laws is questionable at best, I suggest perhaps making lemonade out of lemons. Anyone who participates in mob attacks on churches and pro-lifers needs to be red-flagged. They are proving they are not mentally stable enough to use guns responsibly.
First step?
What about the commie States that already have Red Flag Laws? They’ll want their money retroactively.
I’d like to offer a hand to help you down from there..
The Supreme Court didn’t do anything to eliminate Abortions. They simply made it clear that they should not have federalized it and should have left it up to states to decide.
They also didn’t do anything to benefit RKBA advocates such as us. They made it so that in states where one is asked for a reason to have a gun they don’t need to provide an answer that satisfies the issueing authority.
If it was truly in our favor it would read “No one, no where should be able to terminate a baby at any stage of life” and “To reiterate: All creatures, man and animal alike have the natural god-given right to defend themselves in any way they see fit”
Because both of those are natural law. It’s not being an american that gives you these rights, it’s being human that gives you these rights. The right to be born and the right to defend yourself against danger.
In America we have expressed that the government doesn’t give these rights. These are rights given to us by a creator that the government CAN NOT strip from us for any reason or compulsion.
Now that’s why I’m still poised for battle. Here is why I am really happy about these things:
It sets up a battlefield. A potentially kinetic battlefield. The liberal states will draw their battle lines and the conservative states will draw theirs. People will migrate from one side to another according to their beliefs and we can finally someday actually get to splitting this nation apart, fighting for resources, and then winning it back.
Isn’t this a bit what Q proposes ? In order to win, we must first lose ? Is that how it goes?
The conservative states will build an army of like-minded god-fearing people who believe in freedom, intelligence and compassion. The north will breed their usual army of mouth-foaming demon orcs. The lines will be drawn and the winner can be clear.
As we’re moving now with a unified geography and opposite philosophy no one will actually win, no one will ever see peace and there will be no lessons learned from a conflict.
If we could pay them to lock themselves up it might be a rare case of tax money well-spent.
Defining the battlefield is progress (the real kind).
I wouldn’t mind too much seeing liberal laws used against unhinged liberals for a change.
There is another case coming out the next day or two that will be almost as big. West Virginia v EPA is another potential block buster and should clip the EPAs wings and possibly the whole administrative state.
