A contributor to this is the decaying infrastructure in the U.S.

The road conditions are terrible in these failed areas. It's multi-years neglect and not getting any better soon.

The terrible drivers factor into it to. They're untrained and unaware of basic driving laws and suffer from the unbridled pride of ignorance. Law Enforcement is unwilling or unable to deal with them so they only get worse.

I’m waiting for a Honda CRF300l Rally ABS to be unboxed right now at a dealer a few towns north of me. Will buy it either later this week or early next if all things work out.

If you didn’t notice motorcycle manufacturers are making twins and other less expensive motorcycles in the past few years. The number of new, exciting motorcycles is becoming less and less.

It used to be that sportbikes had a four year shelf life before a new model was introduced. Newer, faster models all the time. Not so much anymore.

Yet one more fun thing to bite the dust on our way to utopia.

Motorcycles used to be considered the most efficient transportation vehicles on the road.
They have a lot better mileage than any car and they do not pollute. Unlike the electric vehicles.
When I used to ride a bike, I used to say, I am risking my life for the Mother Earth!
But the Econazists just do not give up until we all live in caves and walk to our work in stone carving quarry.
If we are the lucky ones allowed to live!

“Honda will electrify its entire lineup of vehicles by the 2040s. Yamaha will make 90% of new vehicles plug-ins by 2050”

The consumer might have a little something to say about that

Do batteries come in Jerry Can style? Can you pour in some electrons from a can when you run out?

They were probably already looking at dumping some of these models due to the sales downturns. Maybe the Japanese should just build two basic bikes and just bolt different stuff on them and call them different models, like HD does.

I saw someone riding a mid-size motorbike today. I suddenly realized I couldn’t remember the last time I saw someone on a motorbike. I know they’re around; I just don’t see them much in my corner of rural Florida. Perhaps it’s because of the number of pickups (and the driver’s thereof having a penchant for drinking on the way to and from work.) It could be all the deer on the side of the road, having been chased out of their woods by the new sudations popping up in those former woods like mushrooms after a rain. Maybe they’ve just gone out of fashion.

Somewhere down my dirt road there’s a Harley. I know because this incredibly fat, old man cranks it up and lays back in the seat while he drinks a beer...or, two. Possibly more. But, and here’s the crucial bit, he doesn’t ride it. Yeah, I live in that kind of neighborhood. Cows on one side of me, then this gentrified rich guy buys the five acres of woods and he’s building a very nice house...within sight of my doublewide on the other side. He paid an eye watering price. Upon learning the cost, my neighbor across the way said, “dang” three times. Separated by long pauses.

Honda will electrify its entire lineup of vehicles by the 2040s.

There may be electric versions available of many of their models available by then, but I suspect this one is going to stick around in ICE form.
