If someone can sue a gun manufacturer because one of their guns killed someone, how about suing car companies because a criminal in a SUV ran over a bunch of people, how about suing booze makers because a drunk ran over someone, how about a company that makes machetes .. axes ... knives ... etc etc etc

All this crap is just making lawyers rich.

S&W did some dumb stuff many years ago.
It’s clear that they learned their lesson from the public reaction to them being stupid.

Can’t use a S&W. Trigger finger is too short.

A Colt fits right.

But then, its good to see the S&W swing.

S&W are damn fine guns too. When I took my CCW test I took my 22A in for the target test . They had 4 NRA standard targets up and I shot the black center out of all 4 . The newbies were shouting and cheering me on as I emtied 4 cylinders . I felt like a hero but I’m just an old country boy with a rare S&W 22A with a 7 1/2” barrel . And a good eye !

Here’s what happened.

There was no bankruptcy. You guys are thinking of Remington. After the acquisition, Smith & Wesson hired some new legal counsel, a new marketing firm, etc.

At the time, I was working for some of the lawyers who were hired as “new legal counsel.” We reviewed the agreement that had been made at the end of the Clinton Administration. It wasn’t enforceable. We got expert opinions from two different contract lawyers. They both said the same thing.

If there had been Democrats in the White House at the time, they could have cost S&W millions in legal fees. “If you can’t convict them, bankrupt them.” That’s what they did to Michael Flynn.

But we had Republicans in the White House. George W. Bush, bless his heart. So we got away with terminating it.

IIRC, Smith and Wesson is moving their headquarters out of liberal New England down here to eastern Tennessee. It was big news a few months ago, but I haven’t heard much about it lately.

it wasn't long ago that Smith & Wesson, which has had its headquarters in Massachusetts for 100+ years, announced they were moving to Tennessee. Howie Carr,a great Boston talk show host, said he had sources at the company who said that management was fed up with the state's politicians and expected even more mistreatment in the future.
