JERUSALEM – In a series of highly unusual actions, the U.S. State Department and world leaders waded into the bitterly contentious domestic dispute over Friday's Supreme Court’s ruling on abortion.
"As Secretary of State, I usually avoid commenting on Supreme Court rulings," America’s top diplomat Antony Blinken announced in a statement.
"But today’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade has raised understandable questions and concerns across the world and within our [the Department of State’s] workforce."
Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, also took the Supreme Court to task for its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson’s Women’s Health Organization.
"The Supreme Court has taken away the established, fundamental, constitutional right to abortion from millions of Americans. This is a cruel, dark and dangerous decision," Thomas-Greenfield said. "What makes this decision so heartbreaking is that Americans had a clear and unequivocal constitutional right stripped away.
"Roe v. Wade not only protected the right to privacy, it also reaffirmed basic principles of gender equality. … I have traveled the globe advocating for women’s rights. Now, this decision renders my own country an outlier among developed nations in the world."
The rapid-fire moves by American diplomats to attack the nation’s top judicial body has raised alarm bells among commentators that this is a second act of President Barack Obama’s "apology tour" and an expression of homegrown anti-Americanism.

My in-laws are Filipinos. It is TOTALLY against their religion to accept abortion. Ask any Filipino in Manila or the provinces, and they would vomit at the thought.
I have a copy of the US Constitution right here.
I will give anyone one year’s salary of they can find the “constitutional right to abortion” in it.
Thoroughly debunked lies such as that will incite violence and sedition against our fragile democracy.
News organizations should not publish disinformation such as this, and Mr. Greenfield needs to be brought before a committee to answer for his incitement of violence.
Same reason they are worried and ‘care’ about that abominable 2nd amendment.
We are the pimp, they are the ho’s.
Perhaps a review of the relations with these “allies” would be in order.
I really don’t GAS what a bunch of Turd World “countries” think about a SCOTUS decision. This is our country not theirs. They can abort their asses off. Our Supreme Court has no bearing on what the other Neanderthals do.
Blinken Blinken, how about a nice cup of STFU?
Kind of like an anchor abortion. If we did not have so many medical professionals involved with other people's anchor babies and anchor abortions, along with the number of medical types dedicated to sexual / gender alterations, maybe there would be more medical professionals to treat actual illnesses among Americans. Food for thought.
My DILLIGAF meter hasn’t budged from this info.
Why would we care, if they care?
These people are disgusting. Apologizing to other countries for our Constitution.
And why should we care what socialist scum think of us and particularly OUR Constitution?
News organizations, are by definition, disinformation outlets. Do you suppose they are deliberately trying to foment insurrection?
They are welcome to adopt any of our state laws.
They can resign and move to another country. That includes grandpa bad finger.
Other countries need to keep their noses out of my uterus...err...
Antony Blinken announced in a statement
_____
The supreme court has spoken!
It is the law of the country now!
You, as an executive branch of the government better enforce it!
Remember, you swore to uphold The Constitution!
Blinken is not a very good diplomat, and all of a sudden he thinks he is an expert on constitutional law?
These countries don’t seem to realize this didn’t ban abortion, just sent it back to states
I’m so glad that leaders of countries around the world have the right to remotely criticize an internal domestic matter mainly relegated to and for US CITIZENS..... /s
