A big 'I told you so' from Trump to Europe

European leaders should have heeded Trump's warning to them at the U.N. in 2018.

President Donald Trump back in 2018 gave a speech to the U.N. General Assembly wherein, among other things, he was derided for forwarding his America First policies to the world. In general, he did well and took opposition in good stride. The keynotes of his speech were largely about individual nations forging ahead and bettering themselves and how the United States would pursue policies to assist nations doing right by both the United States and themselves.

One of the highlights for many in the world, however, was when the president said the following with regard to oil and natural gas: "Relying on a single supplier leaves nations vulnerable to distortion. Poland is building the Baltic pipeline so nations are not dependent on [Russia] anymore for energy needs. Germany will be dependent to [Russia] if it does not change course. We need [independence] from encroachment and we welcome cooperation with countries that wish to do the same." (For some reason, the transcriber misspelled "Russia" and "independence.")

The German delegation was focused on how the president noted their dependence on Russian energy. The delegation from Germany smugly leaned over and casually snickered at the man they probably believed was a buffoon, saying outlandish and ridiculous things.

Since then, "America's Back" has been a theme trumpeted about Joe Biden and his approach to foreign policy.

Side with Putin or side with Trump. Germany chose Putin and now he has them under his boot.

It’s simple; never bet against Trump and never ever bet against America. We’ve seen this movie before, maybe not in 3D as we do today, but we know the ending: America will win as we always do.

“vulnerable to distortion”

Guessing that’s supposed to be extortion

The German “officials” who sided with Putin are from the communist East Germany. The unification of Germany resulted in the former communist taking over all of Germany. Angela Merkel and the loathsome Gerhard Schroder are East Germans who continued the policies of the despicable Erich Honecker.

The greatest tragedy after the fall of the Berlin Wall, was allowing the East Germans to take over West Germany. This occurred under George H Bush and Bill Clinton.

Trump told the Germans they’d be reliant on Russia and they laughed. He was right.

We need Trump as Speaker (a Speaker doesn’t have to be a member of Congress ) and then impeach the illegitimate Biden and Harris.

By 2023, Trump will be back in the White House.

$$$$$$$$$$$$

“Distortion” when used in economics refers to anytime a market (in this case, energy) is not allowed to function freely, causing price and quantity to be determined by other (usually governmental or regulatory) factors.

So it was used correctly here.

That’s BS, it’s an order of magnitude worse for the US if China pulls the plug. I doubt we could manufacture ANY military hardware without China (other than bullets, maybe).

We’ve been asleep for at least 30 years, hopefully Putin’s wake up call to us will be heeded.

Totally correct. Trump also tried to reduce our dependance and to get US companies to move their manufacturing back to the USA. Biden is owned by the communisy Chinese.

Ah thanx. Well, it makes them vulnerable to extortion, too.

Trump was right about what would happen to American energy independence under a Biden regime.

Trump was right about what would happen to the US border with Mexico under a Biden regime.

Trump was right about what would happen to the stock market under a Biden regime.

Trump was right about what would happen to gas prices under a Biden regime.

Trump was right about what would happen to the dollar’s status as the world reserve currency under a Biden regime.

Trump was right about his ability to appoint enough justices to the Supreme Court to both protect gun rights and to overturn Roe V Wade.

Trump was right about how dangerous and short sighted it was for the Europeans to allow themselves to become so dependent on Russia for their energy needs.

Trump was right about just about every single issue. Its undeniable. His campaign ads for 2024 should just be clips of all the things he warned about followed by those exact things happening just as he said they would.

We need to bring back more than that. Essential medical supplies, the entire supply chain for defense systems - components and all, rare earths, oil and gas, and more.

First we need to pass laws requiring that any government purchases of medical supplies or defense systems must come from domestic sources or at the very least from allied countries whenever possible.

Second we need to restore any tariffs on China that Biden waived and boost them from 10% to 20%....with all businesses being told 30% is right around the corner, then 40% after that then.......

Let companies have all the H1bs they want. Just charge an annual licensing fee for an H1b visa that makes employing them MORE EXPENSIVE than it would be to hire an America for the same job. Companies currently are able to get away with paying them about 40% less than Americans so surprise surprise, they scream that they just can’t get enough of them. Just make it more expensive and in a shocking development, companies will suddenly discover that they don’t need anywhere near as many as they have right now. Practically every other country in the world does this. We are about the only ones who allow their own citizens to be screwed over in this way.

I was just pointing out the initial things that came to mind.
I completely agree with bringing back the other things you state.

A lot of H1-B’s degrees are BS.
