I'm as "law and order" as they come.I think the penalty for jaywalking should be 20 years hard labor. But this sounds a bit harsh...assuming that nobody was seriously hurt.
Call me crazy...

Too bad she didn’t try to rob the wrong people. You know, the armed kind.

But this sounds a bit harsh...assuming that nobody was seriously hurt. But someone could have been maimed or killed. Should the law's severity be dictated by actual physical harm to victims? (Here in California some people get out in a few years for killing.)

Because Bone had a prior conviction of attempted armed robbery from 2003 in Louisiana and served a seven-year prison sentenced, Friday’s conviction was her second strike under South Carolina’s two strikes law. She also had convictions in South Carolina for burglary in 2001 and 2013 and a 2015 conviction of unlawful conduct toward a child. Bone also has a pending murder charge in Georgetown County and that will be scheduled for trial at a later date.
So it wasn't two strikes. It was five strikes with a pending sixth.

We have convicted killers out on the streets every day. This gal held up a 7/11 store. Our justice system is a disaster.

Facing a murder charge, think the judge wanted to make sure she was available.

Three hots and a cot and all the meth that can be smuggled in a but-tox for the rest of her life.

“Bone wore a mask and hooded shirt and presented a gun to the clerk when she took cash, cigarettes and candy from the store, reports stated.”
That was her mistake, right there! You’re just supposed to saunter in, take what you want, flip off the owner/store staff and leave.
Oh, wait. She’s melanin deficient. Wouldn’t have worked.
Hope she gets the help she needs. How’s that ‘War On Drugs’ and our WIDE OPEN BORDER workin’ out for everyone? *SPIT*

Our Justice System is the Best System money can buy. Unfortunately for her, she had no money. And still doesn’t.

This is the kind of person Christ laid down his life to save.
People like her and me.
From a secular view - life without parole is too much for her robbery. In my opinion.
To: jeffersondem
I would agree with you. But she has no one to pull for her and no money. So she is SOL.

There was a place in Georgetown, S.C. named. “The Sunset Lodge.” I wonder if it is still in operation.
