Supreme Court security heightened ahead of Roe v. Wade decision

It has been more than a month since a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion showed the court may soon overturn Roe v. Wade.

Chief Justice John Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the leaked draft opinion suggesting the U.S. Supreme Court is poised to overturn the landmark 1973 case that legalized abortion nationwide.

The Supreme Court’s official opinion could come as early as Tuesday, but until then, tension continues to grow. The safety of the justices and the court’s staff has become more of a concern.

While the justices are not at the courthouse daily, protesters are.

The day after that draft opinion leaked in early May, metal barriers went up in front of the Supreme Court. It’s one of the few government buildings in Washington that never opened back up to the public as pandemic conditions improved. And that’s because of how important – and increasingly polarizing – each court decision has become in recent years.

Protesters have taken up residence outside the court ahead of an official opinion on the case that could overturn Roe v. Wade.

But the justices are nowhere to be found at the courthouse, so protesters have taken their demonstrations directly to the homes of some justices.

One protest took place outside the home of Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

A California man faces a charge of attempted murder after he was found outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house with a gun, pepper spray and other weapons a little under two weeks ago. He told a dispatcher he needed psychiatric help, according to 911 calls released Thursday.

In the disturbing calls, Nicholas John Roske said he had been having thoughts about hurting himself and the judge.

“Brett Kavanaugh the Supreme Court justice,” Roske says in the call.

It could well be that the security of the Justices is one reason the ruling has not been released yet.

The day after that draft opinion leaked in early May, metal barriers went up...

That is FALSE.

Many reports had barriers up within an hour or two, and there was an item that barriers were up at the same time, if not prior to the release.

What are they waiting for? Either Roberts is still crying and twisting arms or they are deliberately giving the rioters a long lead time so that they can swarm the whole country at the same time.

Protesting outside a justices residence is against federal law.it’s seen as an attempt to sway their opinion.

The abortion nuts don’t care because they know nothing will be done to stop their protest but you better not protest in front of an abortion clinic!

Why is the law not being enforced?

Standing outside a courtroom or a judge’s home peacefully, in an attempt to influence legislation is a crime.

Every single person standing in one of those protests or rallies should be arrested, put in a van and let rot in jail for a year.

Is there a recourse to fire the Attorney General for not performing his duties and refusing to prosecute?

Scotus began its habit of making political/social justice decisions long ago.

Those nine lawyers could avoid a lot of angst if they steered clear of such matters and left them to the states.

So what for instance, if fag marriage is allowed in CA, IL, NY and not in other states?
