I can’t remember the name of it, but there was a show in England that did Ghost searching and one Halloween I believe they did a story similar to “War of the world” in its presentation and it freaked a lot of people out of England.
I remember seeing one or two paranormal programs about this sighting, and having read about it in books. I visited York, and York Minster in 2006 while on a tour. I didn’t know that York Minster sat on the site of the Roman fort. I knew about the stories of a man having seen Roman soldiers in the basement of one of the buildings there, but unfortunately never knew which building it was. There was one store I visited that had their basement open for people to go downstairs to see the Roman features, but at this point in my life I can’t recall if I went down there, or not. We did visit Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman fort at Bird Oswald. I would have loved to have been able to go visit the Roman fort ruins at Vindolanda. They are still excavating that site, and find new stuff all the time.
Thank you for posting this. I’ve heard the story before, but never saw it told, and how fascinating to see it told by the one who saw it.
