Been trying to get off statins (been on them since 1989), here’s another reason.

Docs will prescribe another pill that will take care of that.
They don’t mind putting people on 15-20 pill$.

Too late, I’ve already had replacement parts put in.

I have a genetic disorder that causes me to have almost non-existent levels of HDL. This is dangerous not just for your heart and cardiovascular system but your nervous system as well. I have numb feet and tinnitus related to nerve problems. My doctor wanted to put me on statins, but it is a little iffy whether this is actually an effective way to increase HDL.

I am currently swigging extra virgin olive oil and on an exercise program. Surprisingly there is more clinical data supporting this tactic than taking statins.

Just on of the ills caused by Statins. Yet it will not be pulled like Ranitidine(Zantac) was for containing the same chemical as bacon.

Well, that could have been me. I developed cataracts in my early 50s. Got the surgery. Yeah I’d been on statins.

About the only good thing out of it was that before I got my artificial lenses I was EXTREMELY nearsighted. The lens corrects my vision and now the R eye is 20/20. The left is about 20/40.

The surgery is really no problem. The only thing is you have to be awake when they do it. The worst part was the prep - LOTS of eyedrops. “Watching” the surgery was kind of cool. Looked like a comet coming across my vision.
