Well, that could have been me. I developed cataracts in my early 50s. Got the surgery. Yeah I’d been on statins.

About the only good thing out of it was that before I got my artificial lenses I was EXTREMELY nearsighted. The lens corrects my vision and now the R eye is 20/20. The left is about 20/40.

The surgery is really no problem. The only thing is you have to be awake when they do it. The worst part was the prep - LOTS of eyedrops. “Watching” the surgery was kind of cool. Looked like a comet coming across my vision.

I also take statins and had cataract surgery (1 eye only) earlier this year. The numbing drops burn like acid until the numbing kicks in, so that was no fun. The surgery was a piece of cake though - I likened it to watching a fireworks show. And my left eye is now 20/20 uncorrected.
