If I really want to find something, I don’t use the FR search. I use Google, Bing, etc., and just include “freerepublic” in the parameters.

Just click “pings”on the top of the main page.every post to you,and from you,are there. IIRC they’re listed chronologically so with time and effort you’ll find it.

FR home page, Account, My Profile, In Forum, choose among the tabs Articles/Activity/Comments.
I frequently scroll back (‘Next Page’) months/years and always find what I want doing Ctrl-F (find) on each page.

I have tried this myself and only found one way;
Go to your In Forum tab and do a browser "find in page" search for some relevant word in the post title you seek. Unfortunately, you'll have to go page by page.
