Not even descendants of Union soldiers who died for their freedom?
No kidding.
Talk about ignoring history.
No Honkeys allowed.......................
Better yell it loud, cause Arlington Cemetery is a long ways away.
“Not even descendants of Union soldiers who died for their freedom?”
Not even descendants of Christian Americans who were strict abolitionists?
And not just those who died, but also those such as my second great-grandfather, who enlisted with the 30th Illinois at the beginning of the war, served until the end, and saw plenty of action in between.
On their behalf, I say, “You’re welcome, Juneteenthers.”
And don’t point out to them that their ancestors largely were the ones capturing each others ancestors to sell them off into slavery to the white men.
If you can trace your ancestry back to the age of slavery, odds are much higher your ancestor was captured and sold into slavery by another african than by europeans hunting them down and capturing them.
Slavery is wrong, but dishonesty around it is too..
Exactly! Where's the call for reparations of the descendants of the men who died to end slavery? They don't even get a mention.
