CNN anchor Brian Stelter is set to be axed in a matter of “weeks if not days” as the network’s new owners push to rid the cable news outlet of its far-left propaganda reputation.
Jon Nicosia, President of News Cycle Media, has been the first to report on numerous stories about the dysfunction at CNN.
Nicosia had the inside scoop leading up to the collapse of the Chris Wallace-led streaming service CNN Plus.
Now Nicosia says Brian Stelter has “weeks if not days” left at the network.
The news of Stelter’s downfall comes as another report from Mediaite claims CNN employees are already complaining about changes made by new management under the company’s new pro-Trump owner John Malone.
One staffer reportedly complained that “we didn’t have this problem until John Malone was sitting on the board of this company.”
Nicosia reported:
SOURCE: “Stelter is ‘down to weeks if not days’ left at CNN. They go on ‘He is everything that reminds the new owners of the Zucker era they desperately want to get past.
They continue: ‘Management is confident Stelter is the one sharing the internal pushback to fellow media reporters while simultaneously stirring discontent within the ranks’
Other CNN employees were complaining about changes made by Chris Licht and the new boss – billionaire Trump donor Malone.
“It seems to indicate where things are headed,” a CNN source told Mediaite about changes made from on high.
“We didn’t have this problem until John Malone was sitting on the board of this company.”
“It’s worrisome that we’re being told how to talk about one of the worst things that ever happened to American democracy.”
From Mediaite:
New CNN president Chris Licht discouraged staff from using “the big lie” to refer to former President Donald Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election, Mediaite has learned.
On a Tuesday conference call with management and show executive producers, Licht was asked for his thoughts on “the big lie,” and said he preferred that staff avoid the term.
He made clear this was a preference, not a mandate, but staffers have taken it as a clear directive from the new boss.
He encouraged producers to instead use the terms “Trump election lie” or “election lies” in banners and graphics.
According to a source, Licht argued that using “the big lie” makes the mistake of adopting branding used by the Democratic Party, thereby weakening the objectivity of the network.
By himself, he can complain. He can’t actually fire any one as a board member.
He needs more votes to get a new CEO who can hire and fire
Malone is a fighter—especially when it comes to corporate battles—I like his chances of getting more friendly board members and making it happen.
How is his name pronounced? Maloney or Ma lone?
I worked at TCI’s National Digital Television Center in Denver in 1994. I met with Malone on several efforts for that and knew he was only looking to build a company, but the man just didn’t seem to have any friends. No one close to him. He lived in an apartment at the top of the TCI offices. It is where you would go to meet him. A recluse type of living. He was personable and a nice guy, but he was just motivated more by money and success than living. He didn’t seem power hungry, but he did seem isolated and focused solely on success.
Oh I know, but i was just fantasizing that IF they become truly more co servative than our supposedly conservative news sites, then I woild, sign up if they brought it back, jusy to support something IF they prove they truly conservative. No way I even watch fox or would even think of supporting them by buying fox nation, nor Newsmax if they offer “extra” content. Both of them are caving badly to the left.
I doubt CNN could ever become truly co servstive, but wilder things have happened I suppose.
Lol he does look like, the doughboy
Well, thanks for that appraisal.
When considering CNN and Malone, maybe the quest for money is a good thing. To the leftist and the LABOR oriented Biden, profits are a bad thing. Greedy profit seeking corporations are evil so he recently said before the AFL Cio
To increase profits, CNN must increase viewers and that likely means watering the left wing claptrap.
We’ll see
“What is he even qualified to do? Any real world skills? Starbucks wouldn’t even hire him.”
Maybe a before or way before model for a Low T treatment center?
Malone will disrupt any moves by Trump as Malone seeks his own political candidates. That is my forecast.
I hope he reads FR comments.
Brian Stelter fired, Mark Dice HIT HARDEST!!!
I won’t disagree. The intense dislike of Trump as aPresidential candidate knows no bounds
This is CNN's attempt to be ahead of the midterms and look conservative.
It's as transparent as glass.
Democrats are infiltrating into Republican primaries to try and screw up the chances of Trump backed candidates. I don't trust these 'Rats for a second. Don't be fooled by this.
Ok. Fair enough.
But, the tone and excellent amateur sleuthing of 2000 Mules really was the kind of stuff 60 minutes was known for back in the day. Any real journalist would be very impressed with 2000 Mules and would be digging hard for that ‘court room’ proof Im talking about.
Agree that any REAL journalist would truly be interested in getting g to the bottom of it.
