CNN anchor Brian Stelter is set to be axed in a matter of “weeks if not days” as the network’s new owners push to rid the cable news outlet of its far-left propaganda reputation.
Jon Nicosia, President of News Cycle Media, has been the first to report on numerous stories about the dysfunction at CNN.
Nicosia had the inside scoop leading up to the collapse of the Chris Wallace-led streaming service CNN Plus.
Now Nicosia says Brian Stelter has “weeks if not days” left at the network.
The news of Stelter’s downfall comes as another report from Mediaite claims CNN employees are already complaining about changes made by new management under the company’s new pro-Trump owner John Malone.
One staffer reportedly complained that “we didn’t have this problem until John Malone was sitting on the board of this company.”
Nicosia reported:
SOURCE: “Stelter is ‘down to weeks if not days’ left at CNN. They go on ‘He is everything that reminds the new owners of the Zucker era they desperately want to get past.
They continue: ‘Management is confident Stelter is the one sharing the internal pushback to fellow media reporters while simultaneously stirring discontent within the ranks’
Other CNN employees were complaining about changes made by Chris Licht and the new boss – billionaire Trump donor Malone.
“It seems to indicate where things are headed,” a CNN source told Mediaite about changes made from on high.
“We didn’t have this problem until John Malone was sitting on the board of this company.”
“It’s worrisome that we’re being told how to talk about one of the worst things that ever happened to American democracy.”
From Mediaite:
New CNN president Chris Licht discouraged staff from using “the big lie” to refer to former President Donald Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election, Mediaite has learned.
On a Tuesday conference call with management and show executive producers, Licht was asked for his thoughts on “the big lie,” and said he preferred that staff avoid the term.
He made clear this was a preference, not a mandate, but staffers have taken it as a clear directive from the new boss.
He encouraged producers to instead use the terms “Trump election lie” or “election lies” in banners and graphics.
According to a source, Licht argued that using “the big lie” makes the mistake of adopting branding used by the Democratic Party, thereby weakening the objectivity of the network.
Maybe FOX will hire Stelter
For sure.
Does that mean his boyfriend wakes up sucking on a lemon?
“.....‘60 Minutes’ would have done 30-40 years ago… before they started working for the DNC.....?
I don’t remember 60 minutes ever not working for the DNC!
Wallace, Rather, Reasoner, & Safer unbiased journalists? In what Universe?
He was supposed to be a media watch dog, but he was a communist. He blamed Trump for his NC campaign hdqtr being attacked in 2016.
Or worse yet...(shudder)... having to be unbiased!
“One staffer reportedly complained that “we didn’t have this problem until John Malone was sitting on the board of this company.””
So they are upset that they now have to do real journalism instead of Pravda style journalism? Oh the Huge Manatee.
Probably. Or vice versa.
From Wiki..... John Carl Malone (born March 7, 1941) is an American billionaire businessman, landowner and philanthropist. He was chief executive officer (CEO) of Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI), a cable and media giant, for twenty-four years from 1973 to 1996. Malone is now chairman and largest voting shareholder of Liberty Media, Liberty Global, and Qurate Retail Group (formerly known as Liberty Interactive), and also owns 7% of Lionsgate and Starz Inc.[1][2][3][4] He was interim CEO of Liberty Media, until succeeded by former Microsoft and Oracle CFO Greg Maffei. By most estimates, Malone is the largest private landowner in the United States, possessing upwards of 2.2 million acres (3,437 square miles), more than twice the size of Rhode Island.[5]
Malone's political beliefs have been described as libertarian.[39] He is on the board of directors for the Cato Institute. He donated US$250,000 to Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017, with colleague Greg Maffei, Liberty Media, and Liberty Interactive each donating a further US$250,000.[40] Though in 2019 during an interview with CNBC Malone stated "Look, I think a lot of things Trump has tried to do—identifying problems and trying to solve them—has been great…. I just don’t think he’s the right guy to do it. Half the people that he’s hired and thrown under the bus are now trying to kill him. I mean, what kind of thing is that?" He expressed support for Michael Bloomberg in the 2020 United States presidential election.[41]
It all went to hell during the Clinton years.
Ooh, not being total commie trash is now re-defined as pro-Trump.
A name for a new political party: centrists, conservatives, left-leaning but recoverable: NonCommieTrash. NCT.
Clearly stake out your position: We are not crazy, anti-human wack-jobs like THOSE Aholes! We are NCT!
Same with Joy Reid. I thought she was supposed to be gone by spring, but spring is almost over.
I wouldn’t mind it if CNN was converted into a flatly delivered news outlet. Disinterested in agenda’s or propaganda. Just tell me what happened and let me make a decision on what to make of it.
That would,be awesome IF it were true thst CNN were pro Trump and pro conservative. Would really be something if they put even Newsmax and other “pro, conservative” need stations to shame. Heck, I might even buy cnn+ then lol
He’s applying for the job of official town whiner I beleive- a much coveted job among the left
CNN+ is dead........................
Malone has a trail of bodies behind him as well. He didn’t bring people with him as he got richer. He took for himself.
Amen...... I bought some Liberty stock and it never panned out
Malone will eventually clean house—but agreed that reputation is very difficult to restore.
He will need to ban any “news” that is just leftist opinion—and anyone who spouts that stuff.
That probably means firing everyone above janitor level.
I hear there is also an opening for a replacement for the Pillsbury Doughboy.
