Oh, what the hell, we're already here...

As a general rule, I don't "discriminate" based on someone's belief system. I have friends and colleagues that span the religious and political spectrum. As long as they don't cause a murder or f with my stuff or family, I can deal with it. We even have a friend who's got a Big Love thing going on, and his clan are super nice. It's not MY cup of tea, and there was explaining required to the young DoodleBobs as to why that's not part of God's plan (and they get it) but the clan isn't looking to recruit us or drain my bank account. Live and let live.

I don't know if I have cultists as friends or co-workers (we can debate if rabid statists are cultists...). Maybe. I've had Jehovahs Witness folks hand me propaganda...they're nice and we part ways amicably. They aren't at my barbecue though.

I saw parts of Remini's series. It's a pyramid scheme with an IRA/Sinn Fein setup where the Tom Cruises make you say "hmmm..ok...odd but not deadly" then you hear about the enforcers. Mega creepy and WHY they have 501(c)3 status is evidence of the ripple effect of biting the forbidden fruit.

Would I boycott Greta because she's a Scientologist? Probably not. Plus I don't think she's particularly interesting and I won't be watching her show anyway. But she's not at my barbecue either.

I wouldn’t know who Gr3ta V@n is unless someone told me because I don’t have a TV and never watch TV. We had nfx for a while but canceled that in 2017 because it started to suck so hard.

Scientology isn’t a belief system. It’s a racket. Of course, the average member of a church doesn’t really believe in anything, either, but - okay, maybe not, but: That’s a discussion for another day.

But really: If you try to pin someone down who’s a scientologist and get him/her to talk about faith, you’ll quickly realize there is none. Their main motivation seems to be A) fear of getting in trouble with the mucky-mucks, B) lust for acceptance by “important” people, C) a lust for control over the stupids, D) some combination of the above.

You can’t even get a scientologist to say that he’s a scientologist anymore. That kind of indicates to me that they all kind of know it’s a joke, but - especially for the ones involved in “media” or “entertainment” - the payoffs are substantial.

Scientology claims to have ripped off the catholics and done them one better by taking the sacrament of confession and turning it into a money-generating ritual.

Also, I am going to destroy it. Just so you’ll know.
