Ok, I’ll start. Soooo, ESPN posts a glowing article about women’s courageous fight to attain equality under Title IX. Yet, if these same women were being replaced, should I say displaced, by transgender athletes would ESPN shed the same tear?
It’s a Tuesday and it’s raining so it must be “Defend Title IX” day. But if it’s a Friday and we are swimming at UPENN, it’s “shut up you bigoted jerks” day.
Never mind that ESPN and the rest spend their time unwittingly (yeah right) tearing down Title IX. Move on.
It’s time for NORMALS to walk away from college sports
What they should do is just have a woman’s team, but allow anyone that is even thinking about identifying as a woman to be on the team. Then pick the best athletes.
I was looking for why the program was being eliminated. Per NBC 7 San Diego...
“According to Wicker and de la Torre, a number of factors — including financial sustainability and gender equity — prompted the decision.
“The need to realign the student-athlete population to more closely resemble the overall institution gender composition was a leading factor,” their letter says. “The current financial impacts created by the COVID-19 pandemic prompted an evaluation of our sports portfolio with an eye towards the long-term success for our various sports and how to financially sustain that success.”
Starting in 2021-22, SDSU will support a dozen sports for women and six sports for men with participation rates that “closely align with the gender composition of the university’s full-time undergraduate enrollment.”
Since she loves rowing, she can now join an elitist rowing club that competes against other elitist rowing clubs. The membership will probably cost less than tuition, if that’s all she was going to school for...
I could care less! Title IX is a disaster for collegiate sports.
