I am so disgusted, and for my entire adult life, I have had zero representation in government. This is the gist of what I said:

"Our town has the 12th highest residential property taxes in the state. This Climate Change BS is not what I elect my town officials for. I want them to fix the roads, not make me wait 10-15 years to repair an embarrassingly badly damaged road in my neighborhood. I want them to maintain the water supply and not be on water hours like we have been for years now. I want them to pick up the trash. I want them to maintain the town web site. If they have a budget item to purchase a new police car, I want them to make their choices based on performance and reliability, not because it is an electric car. This kind of town official involvement is not within the scope of what my town elected officials should be doing. I do not think one nickel of our taxpayer dollars should be spent on this. I oppose this measure."

Then I had some guy near me get up, and said the attitudes of people who don't support this are short-sighted and selfish, and that he had spent years in the military in Germany, and they were so far ahead of us in these things, etc.

I was pretty hot, and I am sure he read my lips as I muttered to myself "F****** idiot."

I was wearing my Navy hat, and he came over to talk to me, and I interrupted him and said:

"Look. You and I are going to disagree on this. We have a fundamental difference in opinion that we will not reconcile. I know all these people getting up and making their speeches right now are saying "Oh, no money is being allocated, we simply want to incorporate Climate Change into all our decisions" and such, but my point is, if one second of this town committee's time is spent talking about Climate Change, that is one second less they have to discuss real issues. You say you worked in military aviation as I did. Every single military aviation accident we see lately is likely a training or maintenance shortcoming. If they have spent one second talking about Climate Change, LGBTQ crap, or anything else like that, that is one second less they had to talk about training, maintenance, or war fighting. Climate change is not, and SHOULD not be their focus, just like our town governing body shouldn't be focusing on it."

Before I left, I walked over to them guy (The Leftists rescheduled this annual town from a convenient weeknight time and made it an outdoor meeting due to "COVID") and said "I appreciate your service, but we are going to disagree. My view was voted down overwhelmingly, and that's how it is."

Trump’s attack on McCain was a key turning point in my own mind in the 2016 election campaign. I didn’t care for the content of his attack, but I found his willingness to put that duplicitous @sshole in his place without any concern about political correctness quite refreshing.

Agreed. He flushed them out by baiting them and trolling them. Now they are no longer obscure.

And their evil is apparant to anyone who looks at them.

And now HE is in their heads 24-7. He is winning this fight.

I think Trump was the best President of my lifetime (and there have been a lot of Presidents in my lifetime) and if he were re-elected in 2024 and served a second term I'd be happy, but I have serious doubts as to whether that's in the realm of possibility. We saw how the Powers That Be managed to steal the election in 2020 for a corrupt senile loser. Who knows who the Democrat nominee will be in 2024 (unlikely to be Biden) but I can't see the Powers That Be letting Trump win again--they will have him Arkancided if need be.

DeSantis or Pompeo may be a better bet, although whoever is the Republican nominee will be demonized almost as much as Trump (if he or she is not a RINO).

I watched The Journal Editorial Report today. They are good on some topics but they are obsessed with the idea that Trump lost the election fair and square and should not claim otherwise.

Something I’ve noted myself is how much struggle Trump had. The MSM reporters literally argued with him, almost shouting matches on press conferences. Radical leftist group rioted. Every little thing Trump made a mistake on or misspoke they made a spectacle of. Nancy Pelosi tore up his speech in front of the nation…on and on.

All that would just resume if he wins.

Judging from the actions of our college town mayor and commissioners in Georgia, who are mostly Leftists, the need to “virtue signal” is pretty strong.

Rather than educate themselves on police operations in the wake of BLM and Flyod, they instead hired a new position $35,000 a year to head up a committee to “oversee” the police department for prejudice, etc.

Now, our police department is badly under-manned now thanks, in part, to BLM activities and some policemen being fed up with the lack of community support and quitting or moving to a city who supports the police.

So these measures are enacted as evidence that the Leftists mayor and commissioners are doing something constructive to deliver social justice and all the other things the Bidung Brigade cares for.

Most vets saw that McCain was not a hero. This is not even about the war. But, his behavior thru his life. We all saw the pics with McCain meeting with ISIS. When McCain was running for POTUS, it was a Ranger who told me exactly how he felt about McCain. He was right. I was late to the party.

Trump earned my vote for the 2020 election. For 2024, I’ll need to hear more from the ones running, but DeSantis has shown to me that he can fight the left, win, and enact his agenda into law.

Don’t get me wrong-I do like DeSantis. He needs to be part of the national picture.
