Fluffy would lie on the backyard lawn - dead-still -
trying to feel the movement of a mole borrowing underground.

And when she felt one - she would start digging furiously
until she got it. And she almost always did!
I remember only once when I saw here give up in 'mid dig'.

She would also sit on the roof of the house watching birds on
the lawn - and then: 'Death From Above!'
It was a one story house, mind you.
But nevertheless she gave that up when she started to get fat.
I guess it hurt her belly to hit the ground so hard.

My Yellow Lab, Lucy, was really good at bringing in critters, too. One Chipmunk was NEVER found - and I cleaned every square INCH of that farmhouse when I put it up for sale, LOL!

I would LOVE a Maine Coon Cat. Being owned by one has always been on my Bucket List. Right now Eva and Boyd are only four years old, so they should be with us for a while. (Brother and Sister from the neighbor’s ‘Barn Cat Collection.’ Fixed. American Shorthairs; Boyd is a black and white Tuxedo and Eva is a brown Tabby with white.)

I told Beau when I moved in at his farm that I did NOT want ANY pets in the house! After cleaning up after men and three teens and too many pets to name for two decades, I had had it!

That lasted about 10 minutes! So far there have been two cats, two Basset Hounds, the Beagle, a few adult dogs we were fostering/training for others and any and all puppies I’ve raised in the off-season when it’s too cold for them in the barn or kennel shed.

Famous last words...
