Well, one thing you can always say about Williams. His movies were either really good or nearly unwatchable. For every “Jumanji” (original) or “Death to Smoochy” there is a “Patch Adams” or “Bicentennial Man”. Though maybe “Bicentennial Man” is worth two good ones. It did feel like it lasted 40 days and 40 nights.
All true. But then there is the exceptional performances of both Williams, and Robert DeNiro—— “Awakenings”... dramatized true story of the experimentation with L-Dopa.
Outstanding acting. And Williams life one of excess, and self abuse. Taken out by Alzheimer’s and deep depression and... lest it be forgotten, massive personal debt.
