At a news conference Sunday, Chattanooga police Chief Celeste Murphy said there were 14 gunshot victims and three people were struck by vehicles. Murphy said two people died from gunshot wounds and one person died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while fleeing the scene.
We are less than 5 years from Road Warrior time.
This is just normal black and Mexican dancehall closing time activity and not really a mass shooting.
Just days earlier, 6 black “teens” were shot in a confrontation between the 2 main gangs that have been spewing violence all over Chattanooga. This new shooting with 17 victims could well be a follow up revenge shooting from the earlier shooting with 6 victimes. Just feral thugs killing other feral thugs, oh and innocent victims caught in the crossfire.

Gang violence affecting entire Chattanooga city
I spent my early 20’s in Chicago bars in early 1960’s. Many Friday and Saturday nights I did not get home until 3 AM. I would be standing on Clark Street waiting for a Bus after 2-AM and never felt threatened. But never heard of gun violence. Things have changed.
This isn’t even new in Chattanooga. Here is an article from 2016 that documents 10 shootings in 4 days. That was in 2016. It is worse now.

Now and again Mafia families would go to war with each other. Wise guys in their favorite restaurant or barber shop would get hit. But rarely would an innocent get shot. Gotta give Mr. Capone and the boys credit for that.

That is because the Italian Mafia was civilized and had a code. We are far worse today than the 30s gangsters or the Italian Mafia. Trump had a decent plan. Bring industry back to America. Get factories up and running in the big cities.
There is a lot of truth in that old saying, “Idle hands are the Devil’s workshop.” Give inner city kids access to good jobs, with good pay. Things wouldn’t change overnight. But they would change.
