I always thought the month of June was set aside for June Brides,
But the whole month has been usurped by the LGTQ etc. community. This is one cultural appropriation that is ignored.
And now we have the USMC out with a new symbol to “honor” a particular community.
Sorry, but this USMC symbol doesn’t cut it for me. The Marine hymn which begins “From the Halls of Montezuma, To the shores of Tripoli” professes the strength of the Corps and willingness to fight as in the Barbary Wars, where the scimitar was a decapitating tool.
Did Gays and Lesbians join to be honored or to serve? Are their value as Marines determined by their sexuality or their ability to keep America secure?
Acknowledging queerness+ need not translate into honoring queerness+. The Marines who stormed beaches did not have time for this silliness. I honor them.
There are pedophiles, practitioners of bestiality, sadists, and other various sexual attractions, but I won’t honor them. Apparently, at the rate things are going, any and all forms of sexual behaviors will be acceptable then honored. To what purpose?

I have been pondering the last few days just how painful seeing that imagery (put out by the USMC itself) must be to Marines.
As a Squid, I am sickened by it. And the Navy is far ahead of the USMC in this. I know how much that bothers me.
I’m old enough to remember when homosexuals were screened out before they were even allowed to join the Marine Corps. If any lied about it and got in, they were quickly booted out if discovered.
The leadership across the spectrum of the US military has become a sad embarrassment to itself and the country. I would tell my two sons avoid service at this point the people in charge are incompetent and Marxist in nature and they will get you killed needlessly in yet another never ending war and try and turn you into a woke pedo.

The military should not include any recognition of “pride month”. When I was in uniform MANY years ago, I believe the subject that is now being presented as “prideful” was a court martial offense & it still should be. What changed & who are those responsible? I think I know who one or two of them were.
I had tried to impress this very thought upon a young man who contemplated joining the military not that long ago. He did not heed my words, but joined up. I just hope & pray that he makes it through his time of service unharmed & not unduly influenced by wrong sources. Those who managed to get the “pride month” recognized by our military need to be taken out & at least horsewhipped.
The Marines dishonor themselves by wokeness. Very sad.
Being in the Marines and being a Marine are not always the same thing.
You have a point. I doubt there are many REAL Marines in their upper ranks. They are soap droppers.
