What kind of stuff is burning?
What kind of stuff is burning?
Looks like irrigation systems for farming just took a hit. Man, that supply chain for food production is running into a lot of unfortunate coincidences.
Report I read said it’s an irrigation equipment supplier and their store is burning.
For some context..
Population: 4,145 (2020).
Okaaaay...
I actually grew up in Wadena. Crazy news!
Please shelter in place
What does that do? How does that protect against harmful smoke?
I need to get to Walmart...
Funky cold Wadena.
It sure seems that way.
And none of these are small fires, they are burn to the ground our of commission fires.
Can all these places really be that out of sink with fire control and containment?
These places are essentially part of our infrastructure and it sure feels like it is being taken out.
Growing up in Minnesota I recall hearing Wadena in the news a lot when it came to tornadoes. I can still hear the weather-girl saying Wa DEEN ah in her Minnesotan accent.
Lots of rubber and plastic pipes, tubing and parts are burning up. Producing lots of black stinking smoke. This is my guess.
Another blow to agricultural productions. All the above parts are made from oil and natural gas so are climbing in price.
“All the above parts are made from oil and natural gas”
Hold on now, you mean there are other products we use everyday other than gasoline and diesel fuel that are made from hydrocarbons we extract from the Earth?
I thought that IF I bought an electric car, putting a brick in my toilet and asking for paper straws I was doing my part to save the ERF.

If you are putting a brick in your toidy I recommend a change in diet, dude. :)
“I recommend a change in diet”
Yes, I need more fiber.
If you recall, back 20-30 some years ago they had a big ERF day march in DC. Lots of celebs made speeches on the mall. The only thing these deep thinkers kept coming up with was to put a brick in the tank of your old 5 gallon toilet so that it did not use as much water to flush. Therefore, potentially saving millions of gallons of fresh water.
"What did you eat?"
Tornado season in MN.
Happens every year...just like “Road Construction Season”
When Wadena’s mayor said almost all the trees in SW Wadena were gone after a tornado, I thought she was kidding... until I visited later.
Hmmm....no SPRINKLER SYSTEM to douse the fire?
