I would be a lot more emphatic about it, and add a few choice adjectives, rather than just saying a simple no.

Rush would have looked at ths as an opportunity to go on and say something to the effect that the 2nd amendment is there to protect all Americans and if this right is taken away, who will be left to give it back to us?
No new laws, if Congress wants to make a change, they should be forced to repeal the 2nd amendment. Then watch people on both sides scurry like rats.
