There will always be those that freeze or refuse to advance. Those have to live with the placard of 'coward' around their necks forever. For the sake of a few missing in action brave souls in that school, some if not all the children would be alive today.

This lesson was learned in the aftermath of Columbine where SOP, is supposed to be, first arriving officers enter to attempt to engage the suspect and hopefully end the spread. If that’s not possible, at least distract them long enough to have back up come in and assist.
