At least two children are dead and more than a dozen children are hospitalized in a Texas elementary school shooting, Uvalde Memorial Hospital confirmed to The Associated Press.
Uvalde police announced they have the shooter in custody.
The total may be much higher. As many as 14 people have died, including several children, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
The shooting occurred in the border town of Uvalde, Texas, about an hour and a half drive from San Antonio, where several patients were transferred to University Health for treatment.
All Uvalde school district activities are canceled, and a press conference will be held later this afternoon, the school stated.

According to Governor Abbott, the shooter was a student at Uvalde High School, a U.S. citizen, and had just shot his grandma.
