This is the shocking moment a United Airlines worker hits a passenger at the check-in desk before he is punched to the ground in a vicious brawl, leaving his face covered in blood.
Footage shared online shows the employee and the holidaymaker trading punches in the ugly fight in front of horrified tourists at Newark Airport.
The man in the black sweatshirt had approached the check-in desk pushing his luggage in a wheelchair.
The uniformed United employee then confronted him over his use of the wheelchair, which quickly descended into a physical fight.
Footage being shared does not show the start of the altercation but it does show the employee striking the passenger in the face.

Airline worker started the fight with a open handed sissy slap. Who did he think he was, Will Smith?
Well, he wasn’t dealing with a Dave Chappell on stage and he received well-deserved punches.
Whoa dude, what's this look like, the dark web??
I always tell my husband to book us into Philly instead of Newark - I feel safer in the Philly airport.
Anyway, an employee throwing the first punch in an altercation with a customer has likely never ended well for the employee.
I don't understand the wheelchair reference. Was the passenger bringing the wheelchair for himself or for somebody he was travelling with? That guy definitely did NOT need a wheelchair for himself!
The main takeaway lesson I got from this is, if you come back for more, then come back ready to draw some blood.
“Whoa dude, what’s this look like, the dark web?? “
Since you asked
Add to my blessings count that I don’t have to fly anymore.
According to the comments, there is a longer version (Twitter) of the video that shows the passenger as the initial aggressor.
There’s even a name for it: “The airport miracle” Where someone books a ticket as disabled, gets their (usually) fat a$$ hauled around the airport on a wheelchair, through long lines, and onto a plane first, and then on arrival they are miraculously healed!
I have seen this MANY times, it is usually a fat privileged minority person. Is it racist? No it is the facts as I see them.
Requesting a disabled priority treatment should require a doctors note.
I guess he didn’t want to pay for a luggage cart. Some people are entitled, you know./s
Newark, NJ is a tough place...
I described this to someone and asked what airport and the guess was immediately Newark. The passenger type was saving money using a wheelchair to transport his luggage. Who knows what he said to the baggage guy. Employee will get fired and everyone will know to let those types do anything they want.
Maybe he was entitled to use the wheelchair because he is better than everyone
I would bet dollars to donut holes this as caused by the usurious overcharge to get a baggage cart. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to pay $6 - $10 for one. They should be a no-charge item in the airport.
BTW, NEVER fly ANY US/Canadian based airline if you can avoid it. They are all, each and every one of them, crap.
I always marvel at the stupidity of how some people fight.
1) start with an open hand slap? Is he a woman?
2) come back bowed up with his hands as low as possible? He deserved to get hit in the face.
3) standing straight up, square, not in an athletic stance? One push and he will topple over.
MOST importantly:
I’ve been trained and have fought in kickboxing matches and there is no way in hell I would start a fight with an unknown unless I was protecting someone. They can be armed. They can be street brawlers with no mercy.
Everything about the white guy’s approach and decision was stupid.
Not correct. The longer video shows the passenger slap the employee, who tried to come back at the passenger a few seconds later.
Wow. Thanks for the info. Wonder why the longer version is not shown.
Seems like slander of the employee.
The black dude showed a lot of restraint and smarts. Made sure the slap had a witness, before two well-placed shots. Then held back when the moron came back for more.
I don’t think passenger use of a wheelchair to haul luggage inside an airport is cause for a United Airlines employee to deliver a beatdown.
If you start a beating, you better be able to finish it.
I do understand how the torture and humiliation of today’s airline travel could trigger a passenger to go medieval on an airline employee.
I particularly liked the recent video of what Mike Tyson did to another passenger on an airliner who was taunting him.
For some reason, morons pick on well-known professional boxers who can easily knock them into the next century.
I talked to a chauffer who drove Steven Seagal and he said Seagal always has bodyguards with him in public because drunks invariably want to pick a fight with the martial arts expert/actor.
