The Collapse of Trust
American Thinker ^ | 23 May, 2022 | Allan J. Feifer

Is it any wonder we don’t trust our government, its leaders, policies, and even its good intentions any longer?

Looking at the issues facing our country, there seems to be something pernicious for which we don’t seem to know what to do to correct the downward trajectory that is shaking us to our core.

The issue at play now is that the majority of Americans have lost trust in our ability to govern and also, whether our leaders are even telling us the truth or are we simply being manipulated? Here are a few examples that are emblematic of the breadth and depth of the issues we face:

The Supreme Court Leaker: let’s not deal with the leak itself; just the fact that the sanctity of the court was broken. No one seems to want to do anything about it and the likely effect it will have on future deliberations and decisions. Why has this traitor not been outed? I say “traitor” because the individual wants to effectively substitute his/her opinion over that of the Supreme Court. Think about that for a moment. My understanding is that the list of suspects contains about 40 individuals. Three weeks in and the suspect has not been identified. That person must be found and outed. The Supreme Court cannot stand if we, as a country lose faith in the deliberative process, which is foundational to the functioning of our country. That’s really what’s on the line.

Baby Formula: The closing of the Abbott facility was a botched job. Everyone knew that 40% of the formula produced in the U.S. came from a single plant. We might forgive the failure of forethought in not diversifying our supply years ago. But the complete breakdown of responsibility by the FDA and the President

I think the transgender agenda is the worst failure, by far.

I’ll go with vote fraud and the lies to cover it up.

From times like these, the lesson that should be learned — but which most assuredly will not be learned — is that LIMITED government is a good thing. The national government should be weak and should be tasked with a very small set of responsibilities.

Subsidiarity is a principle of social organization that holds that social and political issues should be dealt with at the most immediate (or local) level that is consistent with their resolution.

We ought to be in control of our own lives, or know and trust the people above us who have a bit more control than we do.

We are about a million miles away from where we ought to be.

No wonder at all. They Lied, Lied again, then Lied some more. If that wasn’t bad enough, the No-Holds-Bared pursuit of the queer agenda, I think for most people was the LAST STRAW.
No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it’s still a pig and that shat’s not NORMAL no matter how much they say it is!

The federal government at this point is completely illegitimate.

Re: "the sanctity of the court was broken"

I am a life long student of 20th Century American history.

"Sanctity" is a word I have never associated with the Supreme Court.

The trust is gone. Amen. It's long overdue. Too many people for far too long surrendered logic and critical thinking, instead embracing a fictional mommy government to decide things for them.

President Trump got our enemies to not only take off their masks but throw them on the ground and stomp on them. These globalists, their korporate propagandists, and their Branch Covidian minions have shown their true selves. They are entirely untrustworthy.

Trust??? Must be kidding...right?
Their 3-letter agencies tried to kill us all.
They lied to us over and over again, stole from us, abused us, denied us due process. Trust? I don’t think so.
They can all go EASD.

The government has also destroyed our confidence in most of the medical establishment when they forced doctors to only practice medicine by the government’s rules.

All ruling class institutions are corrupted. Yes, all.

In addition, I find that the lack of freedom leads to a lack of trust among ordinary citizens. More than ever, you need to watch what you say just to get some semblance of normal cooperation in day to day business.

I place a lot of the blame on the media. Once dubbed the 4th branch of government they were supposed to inform the public
and take bad leadership to task.
When they went all in on taking a side and now choose what to tell us about and what to hide they magnified the problems.

It’s as if TDS was always there and just waiting to bubble up to the surface! All pretenses are off! You can argue whether it’s good or bad, but I’d rather my enemy show himself as opposed to stay camouflaged!

The old media were as much propagandists as the new media is. At least now they’re waving their freak flag high so we can see them for what they are!!
