Discovery+ announced the Robert Downey Jr. series under the working title Downey's Dream Cars on Wednesday. It will be the second collaboration between Downey and the streaming service.
Downey's Dream Cars will show Downey restore six of the classic cars he owns to make them eco-friendly. While Downey and a team of experts work on his cars, Downey will also speak to experts about the future of transportation.
"My goal is to showcase that it's possible to keep the integrity of classic cars while leveraging new tech and innovation to make them more eco-friendly," Downey said in a statement.
Prior to Downey's Dream Cars, Downey produced The Bond for discovery+. The Bond is a four part nature series about people who have formed unique bonds with animals.
Downey and his wife, producer Susan Downey, produce both shows through their company, Team Downey, which they founded together.
Downey's Dream Cars is expected to premiere this year on discovery+.
I take all my cues from talented movie pretenders with needles hanging out of their veins.
What do you call a muscle car that’s been made green?
A bicycle
If done right, a terrifyingly fast muscle car.The next iteration of my Opel GT will be electric. Made even more cool by the fact the hood ornament is a lightning bolt.
I wouldn't go with the green guy. But that's just me.
I wonder if they’ll do a breakdown of the costs for the DIY types watching at home?
Discovery - (me) can do what ever they want..
I don’t support teens in drag on TV.
Pussy. Give that guy some testosterone.
Well, from a performance standpoint, electric driven cars are insane off the line performers... that’s just physics.. but I personally can’t imagine taking a classic muscle car and gutting it to convert it to some sort of electric....
but to each their own I guess
So he's going to ruin them.
I’m so sick of everyone glorifying their fake god mother earth.
Our society is so sick because the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has been cut out of our society.
“leveraging new tech and innovation to make them more eco-friendly”
How much is that “leveraging” going to cost? You could probably restore 4 muscle cars for the price he’ll pay to “convert” one.
Propaganda, but I think that would still be interesting to watch to see what can be done with cars to make them more environmentally friendly.
Probably call it faster.
Virtue Grandstanding for his HollyWierdos.
I had a green 68 Charger...
What’s mind boggling to me is that these sick hollywood freaks, on their deathbeds, think that they will be proudest of their environmentalism in their lives and have no desire to do the work of Gospel.
It’s a fake, made up, satanic / atheist religion that these Hollywood / MSM / environmentalist freaks follow folks.
That’s a wait and see. It may not wreck the car’s fundamentals. If they electrify it, that’s wrecking. However, if they add something like off the market regenerative braking, I don’t think that’s damaging the car.
“What do you call a muscle car that’s been made green?”
NASCAR uses E15, F1 also uses ethanol fuels.
You can boost the crap out of E85 it’s equal or better than 114 octane race gas. My S60 turbo gets an extra 5 psi of boost with E85 that’s with the stock ECU with the boost controller I can push 15 more than with 93 premium I’d have to run race gas to get 15psi extra.
Here is all the technical data you seek.
Welcome to the 21st century boomers
https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/e85-vs-114-octane-race-gas-on-the-dyno-with-a-boosted-small-block/
“Running the supercharged 383 on 114-octane race fuel allowed us to get aggressive on the tune. We dialed in 30 degrees of total timing and ran the A/F ratio at 11.8:1. Run with 114-octane Rockett race fuel, the supercharged 383 produced 643 hp and 589 lb-ft of torque at 11.4 psi. After jetting the blower carbs for E85, the power output jumped to 700.1 hp and 646 lb-ft of torque. In addition to the power gains, the E85 dropped the inlet air temps by over 70 degrees, from 166 degrees to 92 degrees!”
A breakdown of costs? Nah. Everybody KNOW “green” is free energy and stuff.
