One GOP "No" Vote to condemn antisemitism in the House
The Hill ^ | 05/18/22 11:57 PM ET | BY MYCHAEL SCHNELL

The House passed a resolution on Wednesday condemning the rise of antisemitism in a nearly unanimous vote, with one Republican lawmaker objecting to the measure.

The resolution passed 420-1, with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) representing the only vote against it. Eight other Republicans did not vote.

The Hill reached out to Massie for comment on his vote.

The resolution calls on elected officials, faith leaders and leaders in civil society to use their positions of authority “to condemn and combat any and all manifestations of antisemitism.”

The measure also urges individuals to denounce denials or distortions of the Holocaust, and encourages them to promote education focused on the Holocaust and antisemitism.

Cam anyone guess Massie's reasoning? It'll almost certainly be on constitutional grounds... We will see later!

I can see him voting against it because it’s a grandstanding vote and not Congressional business.

“to condemn and combat any and all manifestations of antisemitism.”

Funny, didn't Tlaib and the other psycho just recently put up a proclamation that Israel is evil or some such thing? Our lawmakers aren't even making laws anymore. Everything is theater.

I genuinely do not believe we're going to recover from any of this, and there's not a damn thing any of us can do about it.

Nice of them to lump religious leaders and community organizers together. Why don't they add teachers, bus drivers and bartenders to the list as well? Maybe they should remove everyone but elected officials from a law that seems to include certain private citizens for what they must say in public. Free speech is the right to say or not say. If any member of Congress doesn't like the way a law is written, they shouldn't vote for it, but should make every effort to get the law properly written, so they can vote for or against it on merit alone.

Well I’m Jewish and think this stupid do-nothing proclamation is a stupid waste of time.

Now taking Tlab, AOC, and the fat one out back, beating the crap out of them, and kicking them out of Congress would be really cool and actually help.

I know a few of them have in the past for sure.

If Ilhan Nur Said Elmi (her real name) and the other muslim from Dearbornistan voted for it, it is a meaningless gesture.

I’d like to see how many Media-Dem Party faithful would vote to condemn Anti-white hatred. My guess is that none of them would.

How about anyone having the guts to PROPOSE a resolution about anti-white hatred?

How about anti-American hatred (yes, US Congress, I mean you)?

Unfortunately, the gop is too cowardly to offer either of these resolutions.
