If you are one of those people who are afraid of vaccines, don't attack here, just move on to next thread.
You got a deal, I think I paid $250 for both shots.
My mother had Shingles and it’s not nice
Got mine last year, no issues. Current all all but the experimental Covid vaccines. Seems we have to spell out to folks that we’re not anti-vaxx.
After many in my family got horrible cases of shingle outbreaks I got my vaccine at the age of 55. At that time insurance wouldn’t cover it until age 60. So I gladly paid the $600 for the shots.
Got mine about 5 years ago.
Got the pneumonia shot too.
“If you are one of those people who are afraid of vaccines, don’t attack here”
How about if we are hostile to vaccines?
It is typical of Big Pharma/Big Government propaganda to talk about people who are afraid of vaccines or are hesitant to get vaccines when in fact many of us are sick and tired of the lies and propaganda and brainwashing and mandates and are not going to take it any more.
I got the first shot and two months later before the second I got shingles. Luckily it wasn’t very painful, just itchy, probably because I had the shot. My wife had a very painful episode on her back and so did a former boss. I had a ring around my neck like a pheasant. My doctor was fascinated that I got it after the first shot.
I did the two shots last year. My wife has had Shingles a couple of times. I had chicken pox as a kid, and did not want to get Shingles. After the second shot, I had one of those “mini flu-like” episodes, waking up in the night with body aches and chills. I took a sick day the next day and got over it as the day progressed.
So you only want positive comments about a post on your medical activity?
$0 at the VA too.
i have have been living with a severe reaction to the shingles vaccine that I would not wish on anyone. Get red streaks anywhere on my body followed by hives, horrible itching and then bruising.
Shingles wasn't fun but it only lasted for 2 weeks. I've been in the reaction hell for over 5 years,
Experimental Gene Therapy? No.
Fid it the hard way in 2019. Came down with singles before Thanksgiving and didn’t shake it completely until the next February. For me it was like having a bad case of the flu AND a bad sunburn AND rash all at the same time.
Got the shingrix vax asap after all that.
I wouldn’t wish that crap on anyone.
For anyone considering it, it’s 97% effective for at least 4 years.....no covid shot can tout those numbers.
My side effects were feeling a little under the weather for 24 hours after injection.
I recommend it...and not just for those 50+ either. Cant get it before that is a myth IMO.
53 here...got Shingles last Summer. It really sucks. It felt like I had a spear straight through my abdomen for several months. I still get phantom pains.
They say stress or underlying health issues most commonly bring this on. Since I wasn’t under particular stress at the time, my PA ran the full workup. That exam showed perfect numbers across the board.
Coincidentally, I had a slew of Covid-vaxed family members visiting at that time. My wife also had severe menstrual issues while they were all visiting. Her symptoms cleared after they left and returned again when her vaxed mother returned 6 months later.
For me Zostavax is a non-starter since it uses fetal cells in production. Supposedly GSK’s Shingrix doesn’t, but it has greater side effects in us older folks. Now that I’ve had it, I’m not getting the vaccine either way.
No matter how afraid of vaccines one is, this is the one you need to get. Shingles is about the worst thing that can happen to you.
I got the second in March 2020. Based on my previous reaction I took it on a Friday afternoon. I felt like total crap the next day. It hurt to move. I never left the couch on Saturday.
On Sunday about the only thing I had energy was to go to church with my wife. She drove.
My shoulder was soar for several days. FYI, I am NOT vaxed for covid. Hard pass.
Got a shingles shot and got shingles. Two years later got a flu shot got and got shingles. Two years later another flu shot and I got welts all over my bod for two weeks. No issues like those before the shots.
PS: I found acyclovir effective against shingles if used aggressively.
**If you are one of those people who are afraid of vaccines,**
A few years ago I wasn’t, then my very healthy wife got a flu vax in 2013 to satisfy her employer, and it appears to have given her neuropathy. And since we have seen the dishonesty of Bigguv and Bigpharma, in lockstep with billionaire globaleestas, no wonder people are afraid.
