Don’t believe Biden, don’t believe Putin and DM writers are not very reliable. So I’m stuck waiting for the truth.
They’ll never actually blame Putin for his own blunder though. It will be “traitors to the revolution” that caused all the trouble, as usual.
Because Putin ain’t dead (or deposed) yet.
If Putin were smart, he would get a big home on an Ocean Front, fill up his bank account, announce his retirement, hire a bunch of Security Guards and get out of Moscow as fast as he can.
Don’t think it’s that easy for dictators to just retire. Too many foes want vengeance.
Trump could negotiate an end to hostilities between the belligerents. No need for WH approval and he is not beholden to NATO or Russia. All that Russian collusion stuff would be disproved and the WH would be embarrassed.
Russia needs a way out. The danger of war expansion is more important to the US than a failed administration. China will be observing. Putin’s health makes it imperative.
It was so unusual watching the parade, seeing all those Russian tanks with their turrets still attached.
So the “million man army” and thousands of tanks that would sweep across Europe was all just BS? A county like Ukraine can stop them with some anti-tank missile and drones?
So tell me again why the combined forces of the UK, France, Germany, Canada, Italy,Poland, Spain, and Turkey need my tax money?
We all agree that Russia needs an “out” with some semblance of honor.
Tragically, for all involved, that ship has sailed.
I don’t see any real way out of the conflict in a manner that saves face. The invader (Putin) is forever labeled a war criminal, has failed to achieve objectives, and has exposed his conventional Army as an inept enterprise with chronic deficiencies.
Putin’s decision still makes little sense to me and it is obvious that he was thoroughly detached by decades of having his Generals pump sunshine up his rear and his own FSB and intel weenies assuring him that the average Ukrainian would welcome his steady hand as leader.
I thought it was irrational when he invaded and very frightening given their nuclear arsenal, a point seemingly lost on Western media and leaders. The culture of Russia does not allow for failure like this without a major purge and that has already begun in Moscow.
I would love to see it end but do not see a path forward that Putin can survive so the meat-grinder continues. It is hard to see a scenario where Putin survives this and Russia feels more secure afterwards.

Someone actually made a hilarious voiceover video of a destroyed Russian tank

Do what the US does, declare victory and leave. Have a big parade honoring the hero’s of Donbas. Who cares? Russia has embarrassed itself enough, no saving face on this mess!
Putinists support Russia because they suck. Suck attracts suck.
Your idea is very Russian and maybe that is the end game.
However, the real power in Russia is found in the Oligarch class. The 500 or so people who own 98% of the wealth in the nation. A parade and state media claiming victory will NOT recoup their losses and they are more focused on the West (where the money is) than internally.
This is a dangerous situation on so many levels and the internal turmoil of the Russian Federation has only begun regardless of what happens with Putin. History shows a “strong man” will emerge and history also shows that the “friends and allies” of the previous strong man suffer similar fates.
It is fair to say that any populist leader that emerges in the coming vacuum will be militaristic AND will seek to seize the wealth of his corrupt predecessors.
That is history over there. Consider one possible scenario......... IF Putin falls will there be be nuclear weapons on the black market again? What better way to assure your peace and security if you are an oligarch or corrupt senior government official? They cannot flee to the West so where will they run with their money and what is the price of shelter?
I am no fan of Putin, but I also assign some blame to Western leaders for the situation and getting caught up in the soundbites of the day is preventing a thorough examination and thoughtful reflection about our “foreign policy”.
Ask yourself if our foreign policy is in the best interest of our own citizens and those of Europe or if they serve a higher interest - globalism.
Does that justify Putin? No. Emphatically not. However, it is undeniable that globalists who are cloaked as “public servants” contributed to the horrible situation.
It is possible to dislike both Putin and the globalists that baited him into showing his true colors. I feel sorry for all involved in this tragedy including my children who are now less safe because of it.
