The Tucker Carlson origin story
BusinessInsider.com ^ | 05 May 2022 | Aaron Short

Posted on 05/10/2022 4:52:30 AM PDT by zeestephen

Tucker's four decades in Washington...have been well documented. But less well known are his early years and how they shaped him: his bohemian artist mother, who abandoned her young family and cut Tucker and his brother out of her will; the Rhode Island prep school where he met his future spouse; and his formation into a contrarian debater who could both amuse and infuriate his audience with his attention-getting tactics. [Very long read]

Business Insider website is a Hard Left hysterical anti-Trump publication.

Remarkably, this biographical Tucker essay is almost politically neutral.

Warning...

The essay opens with an unverifiable racist anecdote, and it closes with a wise, calm, mature, Black, former classmate suggesting that Tucker is not a true Conservative, and that everything Tucker has done in his career has been to gain attention and make money.

Business Insider is a ideologically leftist source.

“everything Tucker has done in his career has been to gain attention and make money.” -— I did not realize people in politics and media do it for any other reason besides power.

Well if he is faking it, he is faking it farrrrr better than almost any conservative since Limbaugh. For example, and this is just my opinion, for quite a while Hannity was considered more influential on cable news, but that was mostly because of his numbers. Carlson’s dialogues and his topics are very piercing of the left, and often have quite a bit of meat to them. They are concise, hard hitting, and often offer facts. They aren’t just talking-point diatribes

Tucker Rants for Ratings. That’s it. He is a slave to the Fox master and does not touch subjects like 2000 Mules his masters tell him not to. He lies by omission.

Well, here’s the deal.

2000Mules just came out. I’m giving the Fox Group of Hosts, another few days to get their stories together, then we’ll see if they’ll present the results of D’Sousa’s movie.

If they don’t, then I turn Fox off for the rest of the year.....and I’ll have to agree that none of them have the courage to stand up for the truth.

In 2020 the American public did NOT vote for a feeble minded old man over someone who kept his word.

Karl Rove and the rest of them cannot explain the Biden win, based on perennial
voting patterns over the past 50 years that has predicted the winner, for example:

1. Winning the Bell weather counties.
2. Winning a higher % of the black and hispanic votes than any other republican
3. Winning 2500 counties to Biden’s 500
4. Having more votes, 12 million than he did the first time.

etc etc.

Is it his choice not to mention 2000 Mules by name or is that a directive from Fox? I’d bet its the latter. Have you seen anybody else on Fox mention 2000 Mules?

Tucker having Catherine Engelbrecht on his show a few nights ago appears to me to be him skirting the orders of Fox as much as he possibly can.

Fox News were complicit in the steal. They hired Arnon Mishkin who called Arizona for Biden when it was only 60% of the vote in and less that 10,000 separation.

Mishkin also failed to call Florida for Trump, when Trump was ahead by 300,000 votes and 90% completed.

It was all a set up. They knew the fix was in. I have not watched Fox News since that night and have blocked them from my TV listings. /spit

Tucker is fast becoming the media voice of the Right battling the Left. He’s doing a good job and as a media star he’s making lots of money, so did RUSH.

I am thankful Tucker has a primetime nightly program, he is heads and shoulders above the rest.

I watch Tucker. Apparently FOX lawyers wouldn’t let him go any further with 2000 Mules. He did more than the other hosts far as I know.

A general observation not directed at zeeSteve but at the negativity we see toward some of our most influential voices. Yes, like Tucker.

I found it a hit piece with no great ability to land a blow because Tucker has quite a clean past. Several suggestions of racist or homosexual abuse at the places Tucker attended that seemed to have no place in the story but splashing negative ink with the hope of some landing on Tucker. Lots of insults from people who knew him. Insulting details of family secrets that are intended to impugn Tucker. Suggestions without proof that he had bad grades (if Chris Wallace were a straight-A student, would that make him a better man?) Bottom line: he works for fame and money. You know, like Morning Joe and every other shill for the Dems.

Here’s what amazes me. Tucker has worked in conservative organizations (before Fox) for longer than most folks have been on this site. He says to a vast audience what many would say in comments or posts here. He mocks the comfortable, the vain, and the disgraceful. And has an effect greater in a week than the whole of this site in its entire existence. In my opinion.

And yet.

Because he works at Fox. Or because he hasn’t spoken on the one topic that today is the center of your personal universe du jour. Maybe isn’t your idea of the perfect conservative. Or isn’t a guy you could bear to spend 10 minutes with over a beer.

He ought to be shunned? Dismissed? Ignored? Insulted?

Good grief.

Rush Limbaugh was witty, smart, and effective. Like most of us, he wasn’t perfect, either. Although he was the most influential show host we will ever see and treasure to conservative ideals, I could never spend three hours listening to him, so I took to reading transcripts so I could condense his ramblings and repetitions into 10 or 15 minutes. I liked Rush, warts and all.

Tucker? No, he’s not perfect either. But he says more in a 10-minute opener than Rush did in three hours.

If you don’t like Tucker. Or Fox. You should enlighten us with a few 10-minute transcripts of your own brilliance. Because without Tucker. And you. We would be bereft of conservative insight so powerful that he has made a thousand times more enemies than this comment.

Re: "Tucker says more in a 10-minute opener than Rush did in three hours."

I agree.

Tucker has stepped into the Conservative breach at a critical moment in our history.

I knew almost nothing about Tucker's early years, which is why I posted the BI essay, which I enjoyed reading, in spite of the political bias.

I agree. He is the only person who could replace Rush. And who is replacing Rush. They both have a sincere belief in God as the fundamental basis of their conservatism, plus a great sense of humor, along with razor-sharp verbal skills, gifted intellects, and family backgrounds that provided variety, stimulation, contacts, and exposure to the workings of the politico/legal system.

Agree! That final snark was an eye-roller. They just had to stick something in there.

...everything Tucker has done in his career has been to gain attention and make money.

Isn't that usually the object of a career? To gain (the right) attention and earn money equals success, doesn't it?

I’m really getting tired of all the anti-Carlson posts here. I don’t always agree with him, but I admire him for speaking out as he does.

I haven’t figured out if people are just pissed that he doesn’t see eye-to-eye with them on every one of their concerns, or if FR is just infiltrated by CNN and MSNBC hacks.

But if those of you who are so rabid to pile-on could do what he can, you’d be doing it instead of masturbating here.

This article on Tucker Carlson was quite interesting. It pretty much describes Tucker as fitting the person I watch most evenings. Unspoiled and approachable and serious about his beliefs and his communicating to his audience whatever is the current news of the day. He has earned credence and he has respect for his listeners. I believe Tucker Carlson is making an impact on exposing the duplicity of our many govt leaders.Hard to get the truth out about what the Biden commie administration is doing to destroy this Republic but Tucker is certainly taking a good whack at it.
