At the age of 18, one woman found that she was not comfortable in the body she was born in and began the journey of transitioning to male.
Now, after spending six years completing the process, Alia Ismail, 27, from Michigan, is de-transitioning back to female after realising that her new identity did not represent who she was.
Alia began to use male pronouns and dress more masculine at 18, undergoing a medical transition at the age of 20, and taking hormones to increase testosterone.
The 27-year-old legally changed her name to Issa in August 2015 and underwent a double mastectomy in February 2016.
But after realizing she wanted to de-transition, the 27-year-old stopped taking male hormones in February 2021 and is going by the name Alia again.
Alia said: 'When I first came out as gay it was quite easy with my family. As far as transitioning, my grandparents were very accepting but lacked understanding, and my mother came to understand my feelings better as my transition continued.'
The 27-year-old says that she does not regret her decision to have surgery or taking hormones.

That's a sad statement. I'll be your friend for the low low price of $49.95/mo. Not a very good one. It's not like I'd help you move and you sure can't move in with me. In fact I'm not sure how having me as a friend would enrich your life but if I can get enough people to send me $49.95/mo, it'd enrich mine.
Your whole post is excellent, spot on.
Observations:
She was one of the rare Trans who could pass, at least visually. I don’t know what her voice sounds like.
I would have been fooled looking at her ‘as a man’.
For a 27 y/o adult, she (still) spends an inordinate amount of time staring at her image in her cell phone. Excessive Navel Gazing is not healthy for anyone.
If she’s going to live as a woman again, she may want to stop posting pics of herself w/o any shirt on.
That’s a sign of a needy person seeking validation from strangers.
BINGO!
If she still a uterus she will be able to have children. It would be unwise to bring children into her world as she is obviously mentally confused in the extreme.
She’s probably the smartest ditzy broad I’ve ever heard of.
It reminds of that MASH episode - “starting tomorrow, he gets taller”

Go from two XX chromosomes to an X and Y?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Her life is ruined now.
If her uterus isn’t damaged or compromised she might be able to have kids but at 27 sorry to say her biological clock is winding down.
Sure she has some good years left but kids after you’re 30 can be tough.
Bored rich kid.
Yeah, nice try, UK Daily Mail Hack. There's no such thing as "de-transitioning". Alia is simply trying to mitigate the mutilation to her body which she, sadly, allowed.
More of this than people know. Of course there’s still the 46% suicide rates when the hormones bombard the brain and blamo, the body takes one last stand.
I’ll bet it weighs over 300 pounds.
Heart-breaking story.. Not.
Her life is ruined now.
Or is it? It doesn’t have to wonder “ What If i do this” to understand if the choice was a mistake. It’s now obvious to that person of whatever gender du jour.
“de-transitioning”.
Kinda like unchopping liver. Just a big mess.
All three of those women have curiously inexpressive faces. It’s like their time as boys left its mark in their eyes, somehow.
There are going to be so many of these cases over the next few years. These poor children should have a cause of action for lawsuits against those that have encouraged them to mutilate their bodies while the ones in charge of their growth poisoned their minds. Every young pre-teen goes through puberty. It’s rough, but millions of people have made it through it and turned out fine. To advocate for trying to “change your gender” is child abuse at it’s worse.
