If the corpulent of the US worked to an easy 23% body fat then the resultant drop in carbon emissions would be equal to taking 130,000,000 cars off the road and dousing every light in Las Vegas.

“Not stuffing your face “ works and its free. Or a variant, don’t stuff your face with high sugar, high carb, calorie dense items.

Combine it with “moving around a bit” and its even more effective. And that is free too.

Because eating reasonably well, and moderate exercise would be like you know, ridiculous.

Here’s the catch:

“along with support to follow a reduced-calorie diet and increase their levels of physical activity.”

Anyone who follows a reduced calorie diet and increase their physical activity will loose weight.

Could have predicted the “eat less, exercise more” crowd would pop up.

A pretty fair percent of the population has metabolic issues. Personally, I eat about 1000 calories a day, have a physical job, walk, climb stairs, and do not lose weight. My resting heart rate is about 40. My BP is 117 over 72. I am sixty years old, 6’ tall, 268 pounds.

I had gotten up to 296, but I have a new doctor who saw my numbers (pulse, BP and weight) and was concerned. He basically put me on an amphetamine. It is meant for weight loss. You can only use it for 90 days. In that time I lost 30 pounds. Since I stopped, my weight has started creeping up again.

Some people have actual metabolic issues. To shame all overweight folks with “eat less and exercise” is detestable.

Yes, placebo group lost 5% and the drug groups lost over 16%. That’s significant.

The control group followed the diet and exercise plan and lost 2.4% of body weight. The highest drug dose magnified the weight loss by roughly tenfold.
