NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says drought during the growing season has made farmers in most of Texas, all of Louisiana and parts of Arkansas and Mississippi eligible to apply for federal aid.

The department’s Farm Service Agency says low-interest emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of equipment or livestock. They can also be used to reorganize a farming operation or refinance certain debts.

Our current dictocrats want to forgive student loans but drive farms into bankruptcy. After all all they have to do is go to the grocery store for food.

And corn, and sunflowers. However, although we have a drought happening in West Texas, East Texas has been enjoying a wet spring/early summer. I haven't had to water the gardens yet, and that's unusual. It looks like I'm going to have a bumper crop of produce this year. And, my timber is looking good.

WE just had about five inches of rain in the Ozarks last week. Did lots of damage. Washed out my new driveway.

So where is this “drought”?

Wisconsin is still in drought conditions, though we are slowly catching up. We had very little snow this winter - which some appreciate, but I love winter sports, so I didn't get out on the snowshoes even ONCE this season.

No Spring for us. Straight to Hazy, HOT and Humid. Ugh!

It's been a fairly cool Spring on The Jersey Shore.

But by this time next month the humidity will kick in.

I HATE humidity.

It's like wearing a wet wool blanket in a sauna.
