Science uses averages to reach conclusions, which means it has to dismiss outlying data.

Nnnnnot really. Science uses the scientific method (surmise a theory, collect data, try to disprove the theory. If not dis-proven, then maybe its true).

Statistical science, a branch of science, will throw out outlying data when its presumed the outliers are there because of things like measurement noise or even faulty measurements. Such data should not be discarded unless one can justify a good reason to do so. Discarding without reason can mask failings in the theory, and slow the process of finding the truth.

Another part of the scientific process is repeatability. An experiment must be repeatable or you have left something important out of any theory.

So you may choose not to dismiss someones tale, but you need much more than a tale (likely of someones experience while under the influence) to call that a point of evidence in some scientific experiment.

I am convinced that Terence McKenna, Rupert Sheldrake, Carl Jung, Jacque Vallee and John Mack are true intellectual giants

No offense again, but those names mean nothing to me, so I am not convinced. Copernicus, Newton, Galileo, Einstein, Von Braun, Bell (Alexander Graham, not Art), Hubble, those are examples of intellectual giants, men upon who shoulders many others stood on to accomplish great feats in human history. Steven Hawkings, not so much.

Check out any one of the names.

I gave you a video, a podcast and several books to choose from...

These folks are off the charts brilliant.

I watched parts of the 45 minute link you sent me. I cant say we define ‘brilliance’ in the same way.

I don't have a specific link but pilots and sailors are reporting daily and growing activity of whatever this is.

Furthermore, the USS Princeton (who was the subject of the tictac event reported by Cmdr David Fravor) and other ships in the carrier group had state of the art equipment at the time. On top of that, Fravor and many others (including Kevin Day, a TOPGUN air intercept controller/radar operator aboard the Princeton) have said over and over again that this was NOT an equipment malfunction or pilot observation error.

In all due respect, they were there and you weren't.

They may have been there. To you and I its all still third hand and I still have no reason to believe there is a technology out there that defies natures laws of physics. 99% of these sightings turn out to be weather balloons. The remainder is usually some idiot flying around with a bunch of weather balloons tied to his lawn chair.

People are still trying to pass of fuzzy pictures from the 50’s as space ships over Roswell. The Tic-tac is just the update of that. If you feel strong;y about it, maybe it would be more convincing, one way or the other, if you actually had links instead of hearsay.

Here's a link that might be of interest (lots of cussing by Joe but the video is short and to the point):
Joe Rogan and Cmdr David Fravor

BTW, I don’t necessarily give credence to anything Fravor says apart from his experiences re: the USS Nimitz event he witnessed.

That's pure nonsense re: the tic-tac issue.

The tic-tac issue including all interactions of such with the military is sufficient to establish that our national airspace (including in and around our nuclear facilities) is being invaded at will by "something" beyond our control, ability to defend against, and/or ability to define.

Former presidents, former CIA/NSA directors and even the current Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines have all publically commented that this is a serious problem of national security.

The tic-tac issue ... "something" beyond ... ability to define.

Your own words should give you pause.

I repeat myself, Your own words should give you pause.

Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Let's say my truck engine is making strange noises and misbehaving. I can't define exactly what it is, but it is a concern.

Do I ignore it or ask my mechanic to take a look (it might cost some money).

If you’re in a race, run it til it blows up or you win.
Otherwise, mech analysis is a good path.

You dont throw money at an undefined problem, unless you are some deep state actor who is looking for another trough to feed from. Then you like to create as many problems as you can, especially ones that have no solution or end state. Make it vague (its UFO's, whats that???) and not provable, make it a threat, then tell people its a national priority.

The first time we are actually attacked by some artifact on FLIR scope or radar screen, or a mylar weather balloon skin being tossed around in the air, then it will become a national defense concern. Until then, its an annoying distraction to whatever ails this country, whether its borders, drugs, or bogus elections.

Great analogy. Do you think your truck is being attacked by aliens or a foreign super power with secret technology? No. You take it to a mechanic. All these stupid videos of tictacs in FLIR screens should have been taken directly to Raytheon or whatever contractor built the system and let the techs sort it out. Its equipment artifacts, atmospherics, and occasionally junk floating about in the air.

“Former presidents, former CIA/NSA directors and even the current Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines have all publicly commented that this is a serious problem of national security.”

That is because when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

This tells you more about their stupidity then it does about the actual phenomenon.
