As of Wednesday, cashiers at the store will no longer be bagging bottles for them, though they might supply empty boxes when available. All New Jersey retail, grocery, and pharmacy stores, along with restaurants and other food service businesses, are banned from giving out single-use plastic bags, as well as foam containers, though there are some exceptions.
What about switching to paper bags? Supermarkets can no longer provide those either.
“We have long-term customers that still probably don’t know there is going to a be a bag ban,” Millington said. “So we’re trying to educate everybody as they come in. Right now, we do a lot of bags for wines and anything we sell.”

Your choices are...
- you pay 10c for a bag
- you bring your own bag
- you carry then in your hands
****We have the dumbest people on the planet running NJ.*****
Like I said, I work in NJ and the people, for the most part, are dumb! Even worse, they’re addicted to BIG government.... Even some of my NJ Republican friends. They would be closer to a 1998 Clinton Democrat than anything.
That’s about as conservative as most of the Republicans in that state get.
Don’t get me started on the Dems in my workplace. I am the radical KKK, white supremiscist bigot freak to them. They’re all quadruple vaxxed and anyone that isn’t is shunned. Yes, they’re that bad....
You either need a new job or a new state to live in.
Interesting-—no matter which way you slice it, you’re paying more or are inconvenienced.
Our government is no longer “limited”-—not even close. All they do is ban things in the name of “environment or the children” and they get away with it.
Living in PA and working in NJ was the only option at the time. But now we’re praying on moving closer to our daughter in WV.
The North East sucks! But, this is where God wants us——
“I live in PA but work in NJ and we (me and my wife) have vowed to stop doing business here other than coming to work.
I can get everything I need in PA——while carrying LOL”

Same here. The only thing I buy in NJ is gasoline and whiskey.
BTW love WV, went to college there and would like to return but I’m afraid my wife would not like it, too rural.
Life is wonderful, right kids?
Thank you, Murph, for single-handedly saving the earth...with seven years to spare!
We visit there 3X-4X per year and they come up here 3X-4X per year. We LOVE to hike and that (comparing mile to mile) has got to be one of the most beautiful states in the country.
There’s too much single-use plastic containers. I especially dislike the beautiful bottles and jugs that are thrown away.
I now refer to NJ Republicans as “Face Diaper Republicans,” because they accept the paradigms of Democratic rule other than wanting lower taxes.
72 miles of the Appalachian trail are in NJ - it’s the portion where the rocks tear up your shoe.
They replaced small plastic bags with large plastic shopping bags. Insane.
[BYOB]
Bring your own Bacteria? B/C that’s what you get with those canvas reusable bags...
No, they are people who believe in defeating the efforts of intrusive government.
Born and raised NYC boy. First place I saw plastic grocery bags in common use back in the 70s was in Chinatown.
IIRC they were orange in color and were being used primarily for produce.
WVWU?
