A mom who suffocated her baby while high on drugs then dumped his body in the trash has been stabbed to death by the infant's dad while awaiting trial, police say.
LaDonia Boggs, 39, was found unresponsive by police in the doorway of her DC apartment around 3am on Wednesday with 'an apparent stab wound.'
Police reported Carl Jones - who was father to the couple's late son Kyon Jones - reportedly stabbed her during a 'domestic dispute,' authorities reported.
Jones was arrested and charged with second degree murder while armed, DC police said in a statement. No motive has been given, with Boggs and Jones linked by the notorious death of their baby son.
Kyon went missing in early May 2021, aged just two months old.
Boggs was arrested in late May on counts of felony murder and evidence tampering in connection with the presumed death of her infant son, Kyon Jones.
She is said to have been high on a drug called angel dust when she accidentally smothered Kyon.
Boggs claimed she then dumped her son's body in the trash. Despite extensive searches of local landfill sites, his remains have never been found.
The murder charge was later dropped, but she was still awaiting trial for evidence tampering after the baby's remains were unable to be found.

The father probably reported a missing person--his baby. The mother was no doubt questioned by police, and probably admitted what she did, thinking that being high on drugs would be some sort of excuse. Possibly they searched her residence for drug evidence or got corroborating info from a roommate or relative, or even stupid social media posts. As you may have read, she was due to go on trial; so there must have been enough evidence for the DA to charge her. The reporter may have been taking the wording from the charging documents.
Although you have a point that the reporter should have said “alleged to have” — but this is DailyMail, a tabloid.

I would hope they went in different directions. A two-month-old is innocent. I hope he was baptised; even so, we serve a merciful God.
Based on some of the books written by people who have died and saw heaven but were brought back medically, they encountered people in heaven to whom they were related but had never known, such as a miscarried child, or a parent, sibling or great grandparent who died before they were born. Mystics say all of us appear in our spirit bodies in full health and wholeness on that side, neither young nor old; and those returned from near-death say that they communicated without words, telepathically. I'm assuming God's perfect order sorts out all those whom we are permitted to encounter—He receives us into "many mansions" (John 14:2).
So the soul of her boy may be shown to her as a whole, grown man, so she would see what she missed out on through her negligent (at best) or evil actions.
