I still have a scar on my thumb from a squirrel that bit me when I was a kid. 50+ years ago. Little bastard.
I’ll say I was at fault. I was trying to grab him to pet him. After he bit me I grabbed a stick and was trying to smack him.

Squirrels can carry rabies. I usually give ‘em a pretty wide birth.
An old coworker got a broken collarbone courtesy of one.....riding his bike and one ran across the road into his front spokes, locked up the front tire and over the handlebars he went.
That was way pre covid.....I doubt he’s lived it down yet.
I told him his story shoulda been bar fight....but noooo.

They're so darned cute and unafraid, way too many tourons try to treat them like pets.

Hi. True story...
Long time ago, in a place far far away (Dallas TX) there was a big bad biker who cruised the strip on a custom built Harley. Beautiful bike, chrome everywhere.
One midsummer day driving down the boulevard, there was a squirrel in the middle of the road. Since Dread, the biker’s name, didn’t eat squirrels, he tried to avoid the critter.
He swerved...
Dread thought he had miised the rodent, but that wasn’t the case. Both Dread and the squirrel were destined to get acquainted.
The squirrel, we will call him satan, managed to miss the front wheel and end up on Dread’s leg, relatively unharmed, but mad as hell. The squirrel had nuts the size of grapefruit.
As satan crawled up Dread’s, you could see the rodent wanted blood...
