Exactly - why else do people think it is a left-wing Democrat reporter who's tweeting this? Republicans giving the standing O is basically saying "FU" to the Dem attempts to show division prior to the election.

Notice how she is very nonspecific about exactly what was said in that meeting. In all likelihood, McCarthy probably used that meeting as an opportunity to unload on the Democrats, and probably the January 6th commission specifically. Any standing ovation likely would have occurred at whatever point he's blasting the Democrats, but of course this reporter isn't going to mention that because she's trying to sow division within the Republican Party to help Democrats in November.

But apparently at least some folks are taking the bait, so she succeeded at least to that extent.
