I’m okay with synchronizing our watches on an agreed “time”.

I read somewhere that Einstein was explaining one of the more far out points of his theory of relativity to another scientist. Who was shocked at what he was hearing and asked something like “if that’s true how would we know anything is real?”. Einstein replied you’d know what’s real if I got up and hit you in the face. I always loved that and compared it to the great Mike Tyson quote “ Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”. So it’s nice to know that Einstein and Mike Tyson think alike.

In and of itself, I’ve long held, time is not a “thing”. Instead, time is a by-product of matter in motion. I buy this idea. That's why I stopped exercising. I figure that minimizing my movement will result in eternal life. Let the experiment be made!
By the way, we need to do more to get women interested in STEM. My wife was never into science so she doesn't understand what I'm trying to accomplish with this plan. Doesn't understand it at all.

I joke that time and life are like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.Cats seem to know this instinctively.

Morons.
Time EXISTS as a measurement of delta from instance A to instance B.
It’s akin to saying “scientists think inches may not exist because of the metric system!”
Now it’s possible that things may throw themselves backwards or forwards in “time” ignoring the usual measurements we make - but that doesn’t mean “time” doesn’t exist!

When we understand consciousness better, we may find that time is simply an artifact, the existence of which, as Hawking said, is there to make sure everything doesn’t happen at once.

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I’d like to do
Is to save every day till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I’d save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time

As long as it doesn’t define time, the article is useless.

Time is just a measure of entropy(disorder). That's always how I looked at it. Time is just a measure of the Big Bang expansion. When the universe stops expanding and hits absolute zero, time stops along with everything else.

Time is a human contrivance. The origins of time are the earliest historical documentation. The Bible is the chronicler of time. Did time begin 6000 years ago? Absolutely. Prior to that no concept of time existed.
